I was blown away with this pedal. I couldn't believe how good it sounds. I have 5 mini pedals on my home practice board (Donner, Rowan, Mosky), and they are as good as advertised.

I got one of these a little while ago and really like it. A good sign was that the Distortion effect was great before you even turned dial to the 12o clock position.

The hyper mode sounds like an actual ProCo Rat.........kinda raspy & snarly! FYI - That reverse tone control is how it is on an actual Rat.

This pedal is so freaking awesome!!! I used it with Donner Classic Blues pedal on "Battle Rat Galaxy" to add a brighter tone and man sounds great!!!

Hey, Shane- yup, I dig Donner. My v1 Yellow fall is still a great "analogish" delay. I'm also not opposed to a clone pedal- and this one is a "rat clone". For that, my favorite Rat is still the Little Bear R.Attack. However, the key to any Rat, in my opinion, is how it handles the midrange on a slightly hot humbucker- so your milage may vary, etc. So, this one ain't bad, but if you dig Rats, definitely hunt one of those Little Bear ones down.

My old indie band was called "Mouse" - we were kinda dark at times. The pedal sounds like an Lm308 RAT to me. Idk if it has *the* chip but I like it. Sounds more like a Buffalo than a Rodent.

Well, there's about 90% of the 80's metal bands sound right there - just add a Marshall! Rat pedal's were always a lot of fun to play with. Shane, you should have seen if you could get it to self oscillate on full when you turn the tone up.

It clips a bit, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The distorted clipping and tone reminded me VERY much of everything I like about Neil Young when he goes totally apeman!

Like Shane mentioned, probably more gain than I need, but provides something different th as n my SD-1. I was surprised at how well it cleans up rolling volume down on my Epi Led Paul. Cool little pedal.

It sounds better than the modern Rat that Proco is currently making and at half the price! Plus you get the 2nd mode... no brainer. You gotta find a og vintage one or white face to get this kind of Rat tone and those cost hundreds.

Ever since my Caline Ghost Rain stopped working and then discovering that Caline does not offer any type of warranty, I have not been interested in purchasing any inexpensive Chinese pedals. I may have to take a chance on this one though. Great sounding pedal! Thanks for sharing.

Is this not a rebranded Mooer Black Secret? Which itself is a Rat Clone. Not dissing the pedal, I have the Black Secret and I love it.

Mooer, Donner, Blaxx, Aroma, Tom'sline are all the same pedals under different brands, Mooer just happens to be better known. It's very easy to spot it when the knobs and switches are all the same.

Nice overall tone BUT... way too loud (yes it's possible), filter/tone control has to be almost maxed out to cut through and has nothing to do with the original Proco, and above all this is the noisiest pedal I've ever heard (45 years of pedaling) unusable without a noise gate stuck in it's rear. This makes more of a racket than my comp/tube screamer/fuzz/octaver/tremelo/delay/wha all turned on at the same time. Maybe it's a lemon... can't send it back to Amzn cause they're out of stock. I've got a few Mooers (love 'em) might try the Black secret but it's €20s more... or just buy a 2nd hand Proco. Keep well, stay safe.

If I could get that sound out of my guitar I would sleep with it at night ! Tried the Donner Dk Ms pedal with Peavey Falcon w/ Seymour Duncan humbucker and Peavey studio chorus amp and no luck. What u guys do to get that sound?

What amp are you using? When I upgraded my amp to a Vox AC15CH, and a slightly oversized home made oversized 1x12” speaker cabinet, my Earthquaker Devices Tone Reaper fuzz pedal went from “meh” to “this rocks”.

You won’t get the same sound as a humbucker out of a single coil

Dont plug it on clean chanel as the signal pass by the preamp and is modified by the settings of your knobs. Plug it in your cd input or fx loop

HELP! Anyone else find the Dark Mouse too loud? For unity volume I have have it just above zero, 1 degree over and its super loud 1 degree less and it has no output. It makes it rediculously hard to set the volume properly. Also I have to have the filter all the down for it not to be complete mud. Did I get a dud or something?

Just got mine, quite disappointed, as mentioned already, ridiculously loud, filter control is way off compared to the Proco and above all, the noisiest pedal I've ever heard (and I've owned a lot over the years). This is totally useless without a noise gate shoved in its rear. It's "natural hum/buzz" is not due to the power supply/s or single coil PUs or cables... By itself it's noisier than my compressor/tube screamer/fuzz/octaver/tremelo and wha wha on all together !!! Maybe it's faulty, shame cause it's tone is not too bad. I'd have sent it back to try and replace it but the big A are out of stock. I have a few Mooer mini pedals and really like them.. Maybe I'll try the Black Secret but it's €20 more. Oh well. Keep well, stay safe.
