Influenced largely by this review, I got mine yesterday from Amazon. Arrived in perfect condition: easy to assemble and looks wonderful. The sound is great - shockingly rich, albeit with a touch of digital harshness. The action and feel is almost identical to an acoustic piano. It’s a miraculous instrument; I can’t imagine any pianist in a small apartment or with limited space not grabbing one.

I couldn't find an honest review on the internet. All of them were sponsored by Donner (they've sent the pianos to the people for free). So here is the unsponsored review of the Donner DDP-80 after buying. I would lie if I said, "this is an amazing instrument for everyone!" That's not true. The only two reasons I decided to buy it are a good-looking flat top and fully weighted keys. I couldn't find any other manufacturers with this flat top. The keyboard. The keys are okay. Fully weighted keyboard, and responding is very well. Also, I liked the material of the keys. It feels cool and looks like it without a shining surface. No nuances here. The sound. Well, I would say it's 6 out of 10. Yamaha p105 sounds better, for sure. The sound of DDP-80 is flat, without enough deepness of the bass, and the high notes are really bright. I would say too much bright. Overall it's playable, but don't expect that it would sound like a real piano. Again, Yamaha is better in that way. And also, even with headphones, the sound is unnatural. Well, in my case, I will use a computer to play it via virtual instruments plug-ins. Also, be aware that there is an annoying high-frequency noise if you leave the piano with plug-in electricity (both in headphones and from the speakers). It's not so loud, but you can find it disappointing if your hearing is well, and sometimes it might be a reason for your headache. So to be sure you are okay, unplug the adapter every time you leave the instrument. Also, the cable and adapter itself are pretty weak. Especially the cable. I think in a year or two after active usage, it will be broken. The other issues. When I received the package, with the first connection, I found that the pedal block wasn't okay. The right pedal produced clicking at the end of the movement. I repaired it easily with the screwdriver and 15 minutes of my time. There was an unplugged spring, so if you have the same issue, just plug it in the right place. Also, I found the unglued corner on the top. So it looks like I need to try and glue it properly. Overall. That's a little bit pitty that the new device from the box has so many things to fix and do, especially for this high price (in my case, I spent ±800 EUR to get it). Would I like to send it back because of all these issues? Of course not. Does it worth 800 EUR? Well, only if you like the design. At the point of the sound, you can take a Yamaha p45 or p125, and it will sound better. But I don't like Yamaha because of all these plastic materials. The quality of the materials - more or less good. I would say it's 7 out of 10. To whom this instrument fit? For beginners, it will be okay because of the keyboard. For professional usage - only if you plan to use it with virtual instruments because the sound is too flat and unbalanced. Am I satisfied with all these things - it's difficult to say.

You will probably find within the next 6 months or so that the keys start to make a banging sound due to deterioration of the material used to deaden the hammers. Annoying!

Appreciate the honesty. . The looks is the main draw of this piano. Price this week is 510 euros, that’s very tempting. Real pianos take us space, I can’t move a real piano, this can be picked up and put away if required.

Does it only have acoustic piano sounds? Seem like it cause that’s all I’ve heard. If not the other sounds must to too bad to show for the demo. Piano sound is very thin

It does have other sounds but time would not permit me to show them all. The thin sound can be counteracted by listening in stereo (with headphones), or by recording it into your DAW and blending it with a mic’d version.

They will replace a damaged or flawed piano free. They replaced mine not once, but TWICE! And they didn't argue! All they ask for is a video. Then the new one comes in less than a week & you can keep the other! It is AMAZING customer service!

If the key action is really that good it is unfortunate it doesn't have MIDI output. It might make a good controller keyboard. Honestly, I didn't find the sound that inspiring. I watch KZbin on a good quality multi-speaker AV system.

No. Everything you need to use it is in the box. If you plan on recording with it you might have to invest in a cable or two.

I'm looking for a good looking digital keyboard to make KZbin videos but really don't want to pay huge prices for a Nord Stage or Nord Piano. It's such a shame that manufactures do not make good looking digital keyboards with stands like this one. The sound sounded a bit tinny to be fair on the Donner, but meh, I've got VST instrument pianos like the Steinway Concert D New York etc... From your experience (you have much more than me), are there any other budget friendly good looking digital pianos out there?

I would never use it for performing but with decent earphones the sound is ok. Possibly used with software it would be ok. The advantage is that it is cheap and feels very similar to an acoustic piano so you are able to switch to a proper piano with minimal difference.

The Design is superb but sorry to say that: the Sound is horrible... So far away from a real Piano. Very very thin and cheap sounding. So you get for the money a nice piece of decoration and luckily a MIDI Master Keyboard. That's fine. But the Sound itself? Pheeww....

Oh please! That is not true!!! I know from experience & I got the idea to ask the first time from others reviews who got a free replacement. You email Donner(or Moukey their subsidiary)directly & you will get a quick response. They will fix ur issue with a new piano if u send them a valid video. All I did this last time was video my hand pressing the loud key. I got a brand new free piano & this was in the last 2 months replacing a year & half old one(& it was also a free replacement!). So you either didn't bother following their simple protocol or u r not telling the truth! Period!
