He made good use of vocal delay and a "hall" type setting on this. Or the vocal delay gave it a feeling of a big performance hall. Beautiful guitar solo on this even if short. (No pun intended ) I think my favorite song "Raspberry Beret". But, for the longest time I heard the lyric "overcast days never turned me on" as "over calloused babes never turned me on". 😋 I guessed that because I assumed overly calloused anyone wouldn't be a big turn on. 😅 I can't not see that Purple Rain jacket and frilly shirt without seeing that skit on Chapelles old show where (I think it was Eddie Murphy's brother Charlie maybe in the skit) and he was over at Prince's house. Then Prince challenged him to a game of basketball. He never changed out of that attire. Was playing in his shoes with the heels and all. Laughed until it hurt on that one. Not a huge fan of Chapelle but that was hilarious. He was a great one even if I wasn't a fan of all his songs. They really don't have very many people with that insane amount of talent anymore.
