He's 78 and still nailing those screams... AMAZING!!! most underrated singer ever.

I agree. Underrated talent. His songs were regulars on KTXQ Q102 Dallas Tx all throughout the 80s. Lots of airplay. The songs were good, and had hits, I gotta give it to him.

I saw him perform at the NFL HOF in 2022 at the stadium. It was the worst Donnie Iris show I’d ever seen. The sound crew totally screwed Donnie Iris and his band. Could hear all the backing sounds though. Could see that Donnie was struggling to hear and go lost at times in the songs. That’s when all the filler sounds were noticed. Certainly not to take away from his performance and capabilities. He’s 80 now. And seems to take good care of himself. The way he jumps around indicates maybe he uses the jump rope often. He drinks lots of water. And he still screams and hits the high notes and totally rocks!!!! You’re still getting mostly Donnie and the band but there were processed backing backing vocals at the NFL HOF show.

I wasn't sure what to expect watching this especially when he was doing the mellow intro part that I wasn't sure was an intro, my mind is blown, that was really impressive even more so learning the man is almost 80 years old, guys 20 years his junior have no voice anymore and struggle to sing what they do try to sing, I'm impressed beyond words. This is a gift to still have this to have him not only still with us but able to deliver this song with all the power of it's original form so many years later! Magnificent, Donnie Iris you are a legend sir, thanks for this masterpiece!

W@W! Happened upon this and so happy I did. Loved this song since 1980, cool story about this song,, I had the cassette tape when my son was young in early 90’s I’d play “Ah Leah” in the car and home and he was exposed to a lot of great music from my day and then became his music too. 30 years later he asks out of the blue, Remember that song you used to play with guy in yellow suit on the cover ??? Of course I did, he immediately looked it up on the computer and played it,,, we both had “a moment”!! They still sound so awesome, his vocals and the harmonies are stellar!! Nice video too thank!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
