What an amazing person of great heart. Sometimes the circumstances don't allow you to grow up to be a "normal person" because all you see, since you learn to speak is just different shades of evil, then there is the heart, the concience deep inside. There's a way out of hatred. You just need to listen. Rest in Peace.

You should know that a lot of what Omar does on the show is based off Donnies actual life. Donnie shared his tirades with the shows producers and they made it part of the show. If you listen to the video you will understand that ED Burns one of the people behind The Wire was an Investigative officer at the time that arrested Donnie for the crimes he had committed. "Art imitates Life" and Donnie is who influenced Omar.

+Anders Kristensen yeah it's probably just coincidence he was cast by David Simon in the series. Donnie's always been the main basis for Omar. Simon did say what you said he said, but he's also said Donnie's the main inspiration.
@musicinspiresall
@musicinspiresall 7 жыл бұрын
David Simon was a writer for the Baltimore Sun when all the real characters of the wire and the corner were deep in the game. He wrote about Avon, Stringer, Prop Joe, Omar, Marlo, Munk the detective, and the list goes on. These are true character based on true events that Simon had access and wrote about at the Sun. You just have to research. If these people alive they actually roles in front and behind the camera in the Wire that's were the compensation comes in, but he is using there stories.

Actually the "stuck up boy" part was a typo. I meant to hit "I" but your ego seemed to miss that. I'm not missing any point what your missing is the point that that Omar's character is based on multiple people and Donnie Andrews is one of them. The creator of "Omar" himself has stated that. It's also the reason why Donnie was casted on the show in the first place.You should research what your talking about instead of just making outlandish statements. Makes you look foolish.

Pretty full of shit. First of all, Capone and Costello had plenty of balls, Frank just had enough brains to know to get out before he got whacked. Second, if you're going to model yourself after an old school mobster, probably shouldn't pick Frank Nitti, a guy who couldn't handle running Chicago and blew his brains out before Tony Accardo and Paul Ricca could do it for him.

Not the old school guys man, guys like Pittsburgh Phil Strauss, all the guys from Lucky's days as the head of the commission, nobody said shit, or they went out a window just like Abe Reles.

Valachi knew a little bit, but most of those bullshit "Valachi Papers" have been shown to be complete bullshit. Vinnie Teresa, he knew a whole lot more- the price on his head was like 500 K more than Valachi. But Vinnie wasn't big until the 70's and 80's, and even then, it was New England- Patriarca and those guys- you're not talkin about guys like Lucky and Meyer running things.
