I saw him in the Gambler, and he was very good as one of the gangsters. I could not believe he was sold heroin laced with Fentanyl. Knowing what we know about Fentanyl today, it's not hard to see that Michael was playing with fire. RIP Mr Williams.

Before The character of Omar , gay men on screen had been portrayed as flamboyant, feminine , robin Williams in "birdcage" type. Having the character the coldest , baddest dude on The Wire be gay was a stroke a genius by David Simon. The Wire is a complete masterpiece of television.

The world would be a better place if everyone watched The Wire. A friend of mine is a social worker and for her education she was required to watch the 4th season which focused on the inner-city schools, because it was just that accurate. It's not the most entertaining show out there, but it's definitely the most important show ever.

Watching this after his death…it’s chilling to know that he would be gone just five years after this interview. He was clearly grateful for all his success and he still had so many opportunities ahead of him - it’s a shame he was taken so early by his addiction. Rest in power, MKW.
