I took a train from Chicago to San Francisco with a tour group about 10 years ago and one of our side trips was to Las Vegas where we would spend two nights to enable us to hit the casinos. I don't drink and I don't gamble so visiting the casinos wasn't something I was very interested in doing so while others in my tour were casino hopping, the first night there I went to see Terry Fator (great show, BTW) and I wanted to see Donny and Marie. To my very great disappointment, both of the nights I could have seen them, they were having nights off. I had a great trip and I loved seeing Terry Fator but I regret not being able to see Donny and Marie because I'm sure that was as close as I will ever come to being able to catch their show. Bummer! Thanks for posting this. What a nice man Donny is!

So he told her he was flying her down to his concert a day early and was going to take her out to dinner, then attend the concert the next day and then file on his plane with him back to Provo. That is much more than just a home visitation and shows that Donnu really cares about his fans. Notice how he takes the time to meet each person individually in the room and to say hi to people who were watching by Skype. Cool dude.

@@itsawonderfulknife7031 Celebrities do it, sure, but few actually go to a fan's house, on their birthday, offers return flights to a concert, dinner with them and a back stage pass. I saw a video a few years ago where Taylor Swift invited a group of about 30 fans plus parents to her house to hang out for a few hours. I'm not a fan but that was really sweet and no doubt gave those girls a memory to last a lifetime.

Justin M Taylor talks to her fans daily. Every time she has a album coming out she invites a group of fans: male and female; to her homes to listen to the music. This is how she built her fan base. When she first started there were a lot of handwritten notes. She still does the handwritten notes. But is definitely a social media genius.

One of my favorite memories was hearing Marie Osmond tell Tom Cruise on live TV to shut up after he claimed (based on his Scientology studies) that post-partum depression didn't really exist. I became a Marie Osmond fan that very moment...
@brendastuart1944 жыл бұрын
I missed that, BUT GOOD FOR HER!!
@maryannanderson75174 жыл бұрын
Isn't it interesting that a man is an expert on post-partum depression! I sort of lost all my respect for Tom Cruise when he made that moronic jump onto Oprah's couch. Not sure whether that proves he is childish or that he is just plain stupid! Also, I sort of didn't need to hear him go all gaga over the new love of his life when he had already been married multiple times before and one of those exes was the mother of his children. And of course now he has apparently decided that the "love of his life" is no longer the "love of his life" because he has moved on to bigger and better things. I missed seeing Marie telling him to shut up but you would have thought that after Brooke Shields cut him off at the ankles for the same thing, he would have learned to keep his mouth shut.
@missybunch19224 жыл бұрын
I like Tom's movies, but I dont like him as a person. He is NOT a physician, and he puts people's wellbeing at risk saying such idiotic statements. If he ever suffered from depression, serious clinical depression, he would k ow it is real!

Her reaction is priceless. She surely had a teenage flashback.

He yells at her and she had a split second recognition, jumped up and her brain got over loaded. She couldn’t speak. He was so nice to wait for her. Then take the time to calm her down so she could speak. Most people show up, let the photos be taken, wish them happy B-day do the invite and go saying we’ll get to talk on the plane. You never get a chance to fully appreciate what’s happening. He stayed.

i really wish when people make a comment like she looks good for 60 or whatever age that you really think about what you are saying -- not a compliment - because people are not unattractive because they are older
@niewissen99125 жыл бұрын
@@eightieslivenow7579 it can be takin 2 way it's a compliment too. It's all how one percieved it and the context in which its spoken in. I doubt anybody means ill when the say that phrase. Meant purely as a compliment.

eightieslive now I think years ago people did look older, it's just people's perception of what old is. Ageism some thing else we have to get over

I grew up on The Osmond's, Tha Jackson 5 and everything '70s, so I was super glad to see that people can still take time out of their lives to make someone else's day brighter and happier! This was awesome....made my day!
