If we all were the same person in our 50s as we were in our 20s then that is 30 years wasted. Life is about being yourself always but realising it is a great learning experience that is if you don't surround yourself with people who just allow you to stagnate as there are plenty who are only out for what they can get regardless if they destroy others in the process. It may be funnier, but it is also cringe worthy. And it's only funny because we are actually laughing at another human being on national television. So in a way, it's kinda sad that people manage to get themselves into the limelight and are foolish enough to behave the way Donny Tourette does. And although nobody necessarily feels guilty for laughing at an idiot like that, it's not really what the show is about. People don't watch comedy shows like Never Mind The Buzzcocks to laugh AT people, like a lot of people in society watch horrible shows such as The Jeremy Kyle Show. People watch this show to be entertained by a bunch of comedians and celebrities having a good time, like ordinary folks do too. That's why we are able to laugh WITH the bloke from Hollyoaks, because it just feels like harmless banter. Whereas Tourette is pretty much providing the comedy himself with all of those silly, wannabe rock star antics. (: x

From Wikipedia 'On 7 February 2007, Tourette appeared as a contestant on pop quiz game show, Never Mind the Buzzcocks (Series 20, Episode 2), on which he faced a severe amount of ridicule due to his poor attitude early on in the show. This led to him leaving the panel mid show, only to return soon after. *His appearances since have been limited, due to his commitments as a full time, self employed manufacturer of plastic fruit.*' Nothing says punk like selling plastic fruit, and later doing a self-assessment with the HMRC.
@greenaum5 жыл бұрын
Who buys plastic fruit? Like, I'm imagining high-quality, individual pieces that sell for a lot of money each. It doesn't just mean the stuff you see in bad greengrocers' does it? Meant to decorate the place and give an impression of freshness? Cos I thought that was all made a million bananas at a time in a big plastic factory, not the sort of thing you could manufacture self-employed. Unless he owns a plastic fruit factory and has hundreds of plastic fruit-making operatives working for him, but that's not really "self-employed". I really don't get it. Partly I want to know cos I wouldn't mind doing that myself, moulding a few fruits. Self-assessment with HMRC can't be avoided, they'll put you in jail and take all your stuff if you can't pay your taxes. Every wise man knows to pay his taxes. Evem Sid Vicious rings his accountant up every tax season in Hell. Which is EVERY season, btw.

He was cool enough to laugh about being made a fool out of on this episode of NMTB, I’ll give him that, but you’re right, he was the opposite of cool, and completely talentless (The Rev was the only one in that band with any talent at all, he was an ok guitar player, but still an uncool a hole and nothing special at all lol)
