very groovy tune - Joe Ramsey of Dread Zeppelin reawakened this to me during his gig at the Wharfside in LA in 2006 - had only heard it once before, ages ago & long forgotten until that night - many thanks Raw for the upload & RIP to the great Jah Paul Jo

trfesok The other version is very punkish with Page on guitar and bass. Very heavy, and much better in my opinion.

Look on yonder misty mountain See the young monk meditating rhododendron forest Over dusty years, I ask you What's it been like being you ? Through all levels you've been changing Getting a little bit better no doubt, The doctor bit was so far out. Looking through crystal spectacles, I can see I had your fun. Doing us paperback reader Made the teacher suspicious about insanity, Fingers always touching girl. Through all levels you've been changing Getting a little bit better no doubt, The doctor bit was so far out. Looking through all kinds of windows I can see I had your fun. Looking through all kinds of windows I can see I had your fun. Looking through crystal spectacles I can see I had your fun. Looking through crystal spectacles I can see I had your fun. Rebelling against society, Such a tiny speculating whether to be a hip or Skip along quite merrily. Through all levels you've been changing Elevator in the brain hotel Broken down a-just as well-a Looking through crystal spectacles, Ah, I can see I had your fun. Dum dum dum, dum dum dum dum dum Dum dum dum, dum dum dum dum dum Dum dum dum, dum dum dum dum dum Dum dum dum, dum dum dum dum dum Dum dum dum, dum dum dum dum dum.

So the story about this song is that he was great friends with Paul McCartney, as we have all heard about the Paul is dead rumor, this song is supposed to be to Paul's replacement, the doctor lyric is about the plastic surgery to look like Paul, things are getting better later shows up in Beatles song, it's getting better all the time, crystal spectacles later heard in The girl with kaleidoscope eyes. Not saying it's true, just an interesting song story

Wow. I thought it was a letter he wrote to an old school friend - Dippy - who was serving in the British Army. The song has a strong pacifist message. It was never released in the UK.

I've been told (by somebody who should know) that the song E2D has only been performed by Donovan just once in concert

+Gregory Feret I saw him in Buffalo, NY and can attest to the fact hat he did NOT play it... much to my chagrin, it's always been a favorite.

Never heard before, KUDOS! . Me hopes Donovan checked his hand....to make sure he still have five fingers after MM had a grip ;-)
