Westbrook was a perimeter lockdown god in college but only a little above average in the NBA. Defense truly the toughest thing to do in today's game and a guy as offensively gifted as Mitchell over the years would rather hit some 3s and dunk on ppl and get the spotlight rather than be a Pat Bev with offense backup. Lillard could probly play pretty decent defense too tbf more energetic and quicker on their feet than lets say CP3.

“Too well rounded” what would actually being too well rounded even look like. That’s just not a thing. The worst part is, that clearly terrible front office has probably been churning through picks, wasting the talent that falls into their laps and it’s the poor kids who get called busts. The great thing about these interviews is the little details, the notebook, the missed opportunities that stick with you, drinking not to be scared in that moment - we never used to hear these details, all we’d get from athletes was the same general cliches and maybe the odd biography or interview where a retired player gave you a peek behind the cliches. To get it week in week out in real time is great. It adds so much to the league knowing there’s all these stories brewing behind every game.
