I'm 60 years old. Fan of Rock, Jazz, bit of the dance floor king in my life during the disco, rap left me dead in the water. But as the years linger on I'm more in tune with the blues. Guess as you get older some things just never seem to last in your life but one thing... The Blues. They just linger on letting me know I'm still alive.

First saw and heard Hubert Sumlin i 1972 with Howling Wolf in 1972 at the Esquire Show Bar (Montreal). Best show I’d ever seen before or since! Saw him again at a Blues joint in MTL with Pinetop Perkins at the the ‘G Sharp’ in ‘92. It was the third night of a two-night gig. Fourteen fans in a tiny blues juke-joint!! Owner Gary Sharp passing around shots of Bourbon, great night! At intermission, I told Mr. Sumlin about seeing him twenty years before, and naming every member of the band. Caught his attention! We sat on the piano bench for a few minutes, talking about the blues. A true gentleman (and chicken farmer) who played everything except what was expected of him! I will never forget Hubert Sumlin,RIP!

I wish there was some way I could transport every one here back to the old Argonaut Biker Bar where I first discovered Blues music. The fourth and final set was always nothing but rip your guts out Blues like Don posts here. You left with your soul on fire doing flips. And since it was a Blues jam there were always local musicians sitting in. I knew I had found a home that first night when they had six guitar players representing five different bands on the dance floor out front because the stage was too small to hold them. By time they were finished taking turns on lead every song playing this kind of gritty Blues, I to this day don't know why they didn't have to call a fire truck!
