2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6 "And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day." Problem: A J.W. publication interprets these verses as follows: ". . . before the flood of Noah's day some of these spirit 'sons of God' materialized as men, that is, they left their place in heaven as spirit creatures and clothed themselves with fleshly bodies. And why? To enjoy human passions by marrying the good-looking daughters of men . . . When the global flood of Noah's day destroyed all the wicked humans, the unfaithful angels dissolved their fleshly bodies and returned to the spirit realm. But they were not allowed to become part of God's organization of holy angels again. Instead, they were confined in a debased condition of spiritual darkness. (2 Peter 2:4). Since the Flood, God has not permitted these demonic angels to materialize in the flesh as they did before then. Yet they can still exercise dangerous power over men and women. In fact, with the help of these demons Satan is 'misleading the entire inhabited earth.' (Revelation 12:9)."1 Solution: The above publication assumes without proof the following: That the "angels" which sinned were spirit creatures. The Greek word "aggelos" translated "angel" means "messenger, agent",2 and is used of both human and divine messengers. It is used of humans in the following places: Matt. 11:10; Luke 7:24, 27; 9:52; and James 2:25. That "sons of God" must refer to divine angels. (It refers to humans in Deut. 14:1, R.S.V.; Psa. 82:6, R.S.V.; Hosea 1:10; Luke 3:38; John 1:12; 1 John 3:1.) That evil power can still be exercised by the "angels that sinned" despite the fact that they are "reserved in everlasting chains". (Why bother to chain these angels, if as the J.W. publication contends, they can still 'exercise dangerous power over men and women'?) The angels in this passage are human, not divine angels. This is proven by the following: "The wages of sin is death." (Rom. 6:23). If divine angels were sinners, then they would die. But Jesus said angels do not die. (Luke 20:36). Therefore, the angels which sinned were human, not divine angels. All existence in Scripture is bodily existence. J.W.'s should be pressed hard for Scriptural evidence for asserting bodies can be "materialized" and "dissolved". There is evidence that the human angels were the 250 princes of the Israelitish congregation which were led in rebellion by Korah, Dathan and Abiram. (Num. 16). Consider the following: They were "aggeloi" (angels) since they were assigned to "minister" to the congregation. (Num. 16:9). Their "first estate" or "principality" (Jude 6 mg.) was that of "princes" or "leaders" R.S.V. (Num. 16:2). They left this "former estate" when they sought the priesthood. (Num. 16:10). They were delivered into "chains of darkness" when they were swallowed alive by the earth. (Num. 16:31-33).3 They were "sinners" in arrogating to themselves the priesthood. (Num. 16:10, 38). The judgment is that which will be administered by Christ. (2 Tim. 4:1). Those who opposed Moses in the rebellion of Korah were called the "sons of Levi" (Num. 16:8). In Malachi 2:7 we find that the levitical priests were also called "messengers ("aggeloi") of the LORD." It will be noted that in Peter's epistle, "the angels that sinned" is placed chronologically before the time of (2 Peter 2:4, 5), whereas in Jude's epistle, it is placed after the exodus of Israel from Egypt. (Jude 5, 6). There are too many similarities between the two epistles to conclude that the accounts refer to two different occasions on which "angels sinned". Rather Jude's epistle must be regarded as setting out the chronological order of events since in verse 6 the Greek text is syntactically connected with verse 5,4 thereby implying the historical sequence. But why the reversal of historical allusions in Peter's account? Because verse 4 in Peter's account is connected with verse 1. "But there were false prophets also among the people, {i.e., Israel of old}5 even as there shall be false teachers among you . . ." Verses 2 and 3 are a warning of false teachers to come in the future, but verse 4 reverts to verse 1 and illustrates the judgment of God upon false prophets in Israel. In verses 5-7, Peter guided by the Holy Spirit, selects two additional illustrations from Old Testament history.

@eddieyoung2104 Жыл бұрын
Heb 2:14 carries a lot of weight against the idea of a fallen angel. If the devil was a supernatural creature, then why would Jesus need to die in order to destroy him? Nobody destroys an external force by dying? But, if the force is internal then dying is a very good method of destruction. And people might say, well, the devil is still around. And they'd be right, because everyone's still got lusts and temptation within them. The point is, Jesus destroyed it in himself. So, when we become related to him by faith, we are allowed to share in his victory over sin (the devil).

It doesn't say Satan fell from heaven but that as lightening falls from heaven so the adversary (Heb, satan) fell from a position of power. The term ""heaven"" in scriptures is often spoken of as a position of authority. eg, Isa 1:1-9. The adversaries to the Apostles & truth were the religious & political leaders of their day.

Luke 10:18 Jesus is quoting from Isaiah 14: 12-15, about Babylon, the 'Day Star, son of Dawn' (ESV). 'how are you cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high..." ' Jesus' disciples had just come back from preaching and were overjoyed at their successes. Jesus quotes this warning, beware of pride, remember the judgment of God against that proud conqueror, (Babylon and Assyria both) who lost army and his invincibility at his siege of Jerusalem, as recounted in Isa. 37: 36. Jesus also in v. 15 included Capernaum, "which are exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell'. Capernaum had seen more of Jesus' miracles than other places. Its poor response to the gospel brought judgment, that he was foretelling, same as for Babylon. Satan= any adversary against God's truth.

Romans 5:15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. 16 And the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. 17 For if, because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. 18 Therefore, as one trespass[a] led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness[b] leads to justification and life for all men. 19 For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience, the many will be made righteous. 20 Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21 so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

With all due respect, the Inspired Word of God explains in detail not only who the fallen angel is, but how he fell from his position: ISAIAH 14. REVELATION 20:2; REVELATION 20:10. GENESIS 3:1; 3:15. 2CORINTHIANS 11:3. Due to time constraints i have not been able to give more examples. The idea implied by this video that there is no real evidence to support God's stated Word as to the existence of Lucifer the fallen angel is clearly not borne out by Scriptural FACTS. Jesus Christ the Son of God, God manifest in flesh, the redeemer, the Saviour, the Word that was with God and the Word who was God, the Word who became flesh and dwelt amongst us, HAD NO ILLUSIONS AS TO WHO SATAN IS (FORMERLY KNOWN AS LUCIFER). Either a person BELIEVES God is able to present truth to us humans AND preserve His Word against the wiles of ungodly man, or a person doesn't believe He is OMNIPOTENT, OMNIPRESENT and OMNISCIENT. What i have noticed is that when people DENY God's Word they resort to unbiblical claims and deny what Scripture PLAINLY teaches. JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD WAS NOT HALLUCINATING IN THE WILDERNESS WHEN SATAN TEMPTED HIM TO BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP HIM!!! Christadelphians, like Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Seventh Day Adventists, the Moonies etc all have one thing in common: A DENIAL OF GOD'S INSPIRED WORD AND A DISTORTED VIEW OF HIS WORD THAT IS ALWAYS CAUSED BY FOLLOWING A HUMAN WHO STARTS THE CULT, INSTEAD OF FOLLOWING SCRIPTURE. Christadelphian's have a distorted view of WHO Jesus is, WHO Satan is, and many other false views of God's Word. The people who claim the Word of God is corrupt are the one's who don't have an understanding of God's Word. When a person runs away from God's Word to man's word, it only leads to the opposite of what truth is. God's truth is fixed. Fallen mankind can't decide what they like or don't like regarding God's truth. HIS TRUTH NEVER CHANGES. Sadly, mankind's truth changes all the time.

The Bible, your sole authority says: John 21:25 But there are also many other things which Jesus did; which, if they were written every one, the world itself, I think, would not be able to contain the books that should be written. Tradition is that which was taught "by word" by those who walked with Jesus on this earth. I'll trust them over you. If it was declared as late as the 1200's that tells me it was not disputed prior. The universal teachings tend to occur when Tradition is questioned.

Also mentioned the churches that have come forth from catholics and kept this doctrine. Interestingly speaker mentioned the orthodox Church as the first to protest and split from Catholic Church.,this occurred hundreds of years before the council. Yet the orthodox churches also have as doctrine the devil equals fallen angel. Speaker also mentioned that the cc can trace its existence back to Jesus. The word of God identifies the system that came out of the body of true believers in the 1st century. Something has to be true before it can be lost. ‘Now the spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 1 Timothy 4:1-4 This system uses a ‘mark’ in their hand and forehead for every religious act. Any man who refused to have the mark or worship the system would be refused the ability to buy or sell and could be killed. Revelation 13:15-17 Who led the inquisition? ‘And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great astonishment Revelation 17:6

In Genesis 6, the 'sons of God' are the angelic host that fell from grace as reflected in both Jude and Peter. They were not the so called 'righteous' line of Seth as is often taught because it does not say that! 'That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.' Firstly, the Sethites succumbed to the worldwide Flood of Noah, but more importantly, there is a CLEAR distinction between what was human 'daughters of men' and Sons of God which are not human! Plus the women then gave birth to 'giants' or nĕphiyl from whence we get the word Nephillim (or earth-born). This was a result of an unholy alliance. The words in Hebrew are bene ha Elohim and only refer to angelic beings as in both Genesis and Job. All Hebrew sages understood this and it was a Hebraic teaching. In Job 15:14 we read, 'What are mortals, that they could be pure, or those born of woman, that they could be righteous? 15 If God places no trust in his holy ones,if even the heavens are not pure in his eyes,16 how much less mortals, who are vile and corrupt,who drink up evil like water!' There is a distinct difference between 'mortals those born of a woman and the holy ones who once made the heavens impure, who fell from grace by doing the unthinkable, casting off their immortality by the lust of the eye and the lust of the flesh. The 'holy' ones are indeed His malak or angelic creation who once disobeyed and fell from grace. This story of Genesis 6 is retold throughout other cultures such as the Greek texts, Sumerian texts and so on. What happens in the heavens is always reflected upon earth, so as rebellion took place above, so below in Eden, rebellion took place. For greater understanding of this concept please look up Michael Heiser, who is a wonderful teacher/believer who is also a top ancient languages expert especially pertaining to Semitic and Sumerian languages. This is a well known Jewish concept and makes total sense when we read in the book of Jude 1:6 'And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.' Again, the word for 'habitation' is oikētērion which means, dwelling place and also, 'of the body as a dwelling place for the spirit' and appears one more time in 2Corinthians 5:2 where Paul uses it in respect of believers longing for their oikētērion or spiritual body coming from heaven at the appearance of Yeshua the Messiah. So those angelic beings that rebelled, willingly gave up their oikētērion or spiritual home/habitation for their spirit and paid the price by being condemned forever and we know in Jude 1:6 that those who are changed and clothed with their spiritual bodies, oikētērion, will JUDGE those beings that fell from Adonai's grace. Read the Scriptures as they are, not put a man made interpretation on them because they are sometimes hard to digest. If Adonai says that the sons of God sinned then they sinned and they are not human because as before explained the phrase sons of God is ONLY EVER USED of His 'angelic' creation. Men are always referred to as 'bene ha adam.'

**Sons of God** denotes God's people. Never does this refer to fallen angels as the uninspired so-called "book of Enoch" claims. That (Gen 6) has nothing to with fallen angels. Ezekiel 32:27 And they shall not lie with **the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised**, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. 32:28 Yea, you shall be broken in the midst of **the uncircumcised**, and shall lie with them that are slain with the sword. Plainly reads the "fallen" (nephyl) are "the uncircumcised" or the fallen away due to sin. Earth was destroyed by flood due to SIN not genetics. There are no angel babies. Matthew Henry Commentaries (1700) Job Satan among the sons of God (v. 6), an adversary (so Satan signifies) to God, to men, to all good: he thrust himself into an assembly of the sons of God that came to present themselves before the Lord. This means a meeting of the saints on earth. Professors of religion, in the patriarchal age, were called sons of God; they had then religious assemblies and stated times for them. The King came in to see his guests; the eye of God was on all present. But there was a serpent in paradise, a Satan among the sons of God; when they come together he is among them, to distract and disturb them, stands at their right hand to resist them.

if it relates to God's people it would say so, the Hebrew is bnei HaElohim and is only ever used of the angelic realm, compare Job 38:7. I am not using the book of Enoch but the TaNaKh and more specifically the Septuagint scriptures (Dead Sea Scrolls). If it were used of humans, then the Hebrew would be benei haadam. If you cannot understand the complex background of the OT then you cannot understand why Joshua along with David were commanded by Adonai to 'wipe out' certain tribes such as the Philistines, including women, children and animals, this seed line was polluted by what went on in the past these accounts are alluded to in both Peter and Jude. The remnant remains of giants are now being found worldwide, as in the Days of Noach, and warned about by Messiah. Think of the genetic engineering being carried out today, this technology is not new, in fact it is millennia old. Yeshua warned us at our peril if we ignore the facts.
