Dont buy this danby 3in1 portable air conditioner. Buy the black model with the dual insulated exhaust.
This danby 3in1 portable air conditioner is almost the same price and has a single exhaust hose which is WAY worse.

The reason they still make them this way (single hose) is , it is cheaper for them. They screw their customers. Their customer service is non existent , they have no tutorial videos on their website. I even phoned Danby for some help. Their customer rep told me that my model (DPA100E5WDB-6) didn't have a thermostat. I almost fell off of my chair. The problem is; we as consumers do not do enough research before we buy. Oh! their user manuals are a joke. You couldn't be more correct regarding the vacuum it creates , this might be the worst thing of all.

No…thermostat???? On an AIR CONDITIONER!?!! How does that even happen. Unbelievable. I’m incredulous as well. Exactly, they save a tiny bit of money making them and it costs their customers more than the price of the unit over the life of using it. This madness has to end. In posting these videos I’ve gotten over 20 comments from people where a new unit stopped working in the first 2 weeks…no help from the customer service 🤯. Insanity!

Thanks for the information! I hadn’t considered the difference between dual hose and single hose portable AC units before. With the current heat wave, I’m looking into getting one for my apartment here in Canada. I’m deciding between these two options: Danby 12,000 BTU SACC Inverter Smart Portable Air Conditioner DPA120B9IWDB-6 from Costco, which appears to be a dual hose model. DeLonghi Portable Air Conditioner 14,000 BTU, cool extra large rooms up to 700 sqft, EX390LVYN from Amazon, which is rated as a #1 bestseller but is a single hose model but has higher BTU. Do you have any insights or advice on which might be a better choice between these two or even a different portable AC altogether?

That black one from Costco for sure is your best bet. I’m trying to find a dual hose midea to compare it to but they’re all sold out (here in YYC). So far that Danby has been the best hands down. Quietest, most efficient, most cold air volume output and easiest to setup and use plus has dual hose. People say the midea is ever better…

I have a single hose 8000 BTU insignia and it's okay for a tiny room but they said 350 sq ft which I can't believe

Yeah I agree with you. It takes the edge off a hot 350-400sqft room but the lowest I’ve been able to get the inside air temp is +73F or 22/+23c (depending on how hot it is outside)

I have both versions running in my house right now. The dual hose one is significantly louder and more annoying. It cools a little faster, but not by much. You should have run a dual hose model in this video to show people an accurate comparison instead of just saying it's better. Danby is making very poor products lately and you can see rows of returned ones at home depot even during a heat wave.

Interesting you’re the first person to say this. The funny thing is I have both versions running in my house and have the opposite experience. The dual hose on low fan speed full cooling is WAY quieter and puts out colder air. Danby does seem to make some crappy duds, maybe you have a bad one. The white dual hose model has not impressed me noise-wise.
