In these rural areas they are generally very lazy, they farm only because they have to eat and many are drunk most of the time. When i went on a trip and parked by the kaveri river, they showed up on a tractor, asked us what we were doing there and one drunk guy started demanding parkig charges. I stood my ground and.said its public land and that i wasnt going to pay, in very few words of kannada that i could use. He then proceded to demand cigarettes and helped himself to soft drinks that we had lying on a picnic blanket. I gave them a few cigarettes and told them thats all he was going to get and he left . We had to pack up and leave because i knew he wasnt happy and was going to be back, probably with more drunk friends. Its best if you go in large numbers else you have to be ready to fight it out and probably sustain injuries. They dont care about the police, because most of the cops would come from the same local area and have the same attitude and be on their side. Unless the government orders the police to take action and get a few arrested, this is only going to get bigger and affect tourisnm in the state. Tamil nadu and kerala arent too far away and they will take the business away. #karnatakapolice
