About the farming potential with the duelists, in the beta I was lucky enough to have a "M" chess setpiece spawn. Not only was this really fitting, but made getting nm fuel really easy. But the main upside is you can just spawn a duelist in the middle of the flower patch and he'll farm butterflies for you. You could make a flower patch wherever to also do this, but the M was too fitting not to pass up

Best DST Stand User? Far as I can tell, we got Willow (Burnie) Wendy (Ghost) Webber (bit of a technicality, but he spawns with a Spider's Nest) Maxwell (Shadows) to choose from. I WOULD include other mob-based characters like Wurt, but I don't think anybody else starts with either a summonable entity or, in Webber's case, a placable spawner.

1. Shouldn't you have waited a bit before doing this? Both servants and Duelests where buffed to shit just last night, making this run outdated before it even aired. 2. In regards to the description, the problem with the Servants, In my opinion, is that they from a harvester to a Niche harvester. One of live Maxwell's better qualities was the ability to run through a biome strip it of all it's rocks. Something that he can't do now sense shadows are temporary. Meaning that; if it hadn't been for last night's buff adding picking; He'd only be able to do 1 things in regards to harvesting instead of atleast 2 things. 3. Why didn't you use any of the spells? Sure, shadow sneak is pretty bad. But the Magician's hat is basically a second backpack, and shadow prison makes Dfly your BITCH.

shadow prison admittedly is great but would need to be used a ridiculous amount to keep dragonfly down for the required amount of time.(i saw the cheese video) Magic hat is a fair critique, i just didnt see a need to go for it considering inventory was never really an issue for me this playthrough cause i was able to get all the required matts so quick. I disagree hardcore about the servants. they are able to be used super efficiently now and cost so much less, making their cost for being able to perform literally any labor like .2 nightmare fuel per usage. And about duelists, i didnt have a chance to read the buff about them before this video came out as it was night for me at the time and this video had already gotten copy claimed like 3 times. If they are that much better then i might make a rework part 2 or something.

@@slasher3428 I guarantee you they are. Them not being able to be one shot is sooo good and their lunge attack(which deals 60 dmg) is super good. What's more, the fact that they tp when they get hit means that they deaggro the mob and always get the first hit. On high hp targets, this means that they won't get dropped one by one but instead die gradually

I am pretty sure klaus is able to walk through his sack now. Another strategy might be to shadow prison Klaus's deer and then make sure to keep the fight within 7 tiles of them so Klaus does not enrage.

there is a rework mod of maxwell much better than the original where you can have up to 15 shadows being axe, pickaxe, shovel, backpack, spear and sword, you can keep the shadows in the book and release them, send the shadow to be on guard in an area, has a spell of 34 damage with the book with time of use,, to a mini game that you defeat the shadows easier by breaking the shadow creature into fragments and running around the map collecting them you carry the shadow creature It's the easiest kill, you consume sanity with each action you order, for example cut a tree -15 sanity etc, much cooler.

@@slasher3428 I assume you probably checked it out already, but in case you didn't: Very much so, actually. They were nerfed yesterday because of strong they were defensively. They were able to survive a few hits from anything because they had a max damage taken threshold. They also disappeared like shadow monsters, disallow follow attacks from enemies. This is while having a dash attack from that minigame arena klei made years ago. They've been nerfed but also buffed yesterday. It may be best to wait til release as klei is doing some crazy things.

You talk about shadows being able to do multiple tasks as a good thing... except stone and wood are often different biomes unless you're planting trees next to rocks for some reason. The work they do isn't efficient either. Once a season you have a boss which can do it for you, for free, and this coincidentally helps kill them to get loot. Shadow Duelist's cost isn't good compared to just bringing a Pig or one of the many other minions characters to do fighting for you. Wicker and Webber do the same but better being able to deploy Spiders/Bees to do more. Ender Chest sounds cool... but it is just a backpack. You often can't stick out long enough to make use of Backpack 2. Even an Ender Chest in Minecraft had little use in practical play as by that point you've little to no use for it. His Shadow Prison can lock down enemies... big wow. That army of pigs, beefalo, or just placing objects in things way can accomplish the same task. What situation do you do this in... that there isn't a solution for? Almost nothing he does actually provides something useful or can't be done on almost any character already. Compare this to Webber/Wort who trade Pigs for potentially stronger minion system. Maxwell trades nothing, gets nothing, an falls behind.

Really wish Maxwell had the same powers in DS. In DS the book is useless. Spawns minions that dont fight unless you fight, dont work unless you work, and get bodied by anything hitting harder than 75hp, whilst dealing measly 40 damage per hit. Oh, it also costs 2 Nightmare Fuel and hurts you to summon them - considering that Maxwell has 75 health, losing 45 health on each minion isnt exactly a sound investment, without pierogi or surf n turn on hand.
