I don't get why people say Floyd's boring. Even when he's sparring, I'm amazed...
@jpesmar6 жыл бұрын
Because most people haven't throw or taken a single punch in their life. Anyone who has stepped into the ring and competed, be that as a pro or even a "light sparring" between gyms, can appreciate what this dude can do. We all like those fights that are true wars, but there isn't a single boxer who wouldn't fight like Mayweather if they could pull it off. Retire undefeated, with their health intact, and richer than any other athlete on the world... what a fucking dream. Whatever kind of douche he is outside of the ring, he's a master at his craft, he has kept himself in shape during his whole career (even now, that he's retired, he doesn't get carried away and still trains and keeps his weight in check), and has known how to evolve according to his age and physical limitations. Those are things every person who has fought can learn from. Does that mean he should be people favorite fighter? fuck no, his fights are in fact sometimes boring, but it's not his fault no other boxer on the planet has cracked his code.

cardiomanify watch the other guy's head and foot movement, the pattern never changes. Any time he moves his left foot, his head moves to the left, right foot, his head moved to the right. You can pick up on that to know where his head Is gonna be, and anticipate where to place your jab.
@cardiomanify9 жыл бұрын
+Bryant Fluker My trainer never really took the trouble to explain such things to me. I always feel I am just throwing random punches... I know Floyd has the best ring IQ and everytime he fights, I am always wondering, "what is Floyd seeing right now that I am not? What openings and what traps is he trying to set? How does he spring those traps?" I don't believe Floyd throws random punches. He has a reason for everything he does. He's my boxing hero.

One thing about Floyd is that he's always present within every moment. He's always watching and paying attention each and every detail. See that Andre Berto said about their fight. Floyd seldom wastes any movement or detail.

I know it’s different weight divisions, but I’d love to see lomachenko and mayweather spar. I’d just like to see how loma deals w mayweather’s defense and counters, and how mayweather reads loma and picks up on his habits

You have to spar constantly, it's basically repetitiveness that will help you. The more you do something the more you start getting used to it. Yes it does takes skills and a good boxing IQ, but overall it also takes hard work & dedication.

Napoleonic Floyd with the paper punch. If boxing was all just slapping like Floyd does boxing would suck. His punches land like he is punching a refrigerator. In short his punches do not hurt enough to make his running away fun to watch. Just personal preference I guess.

@@davidtwilight2363 you don't like floyd because you don't appreciate the technicality of his style, in other words, you don't understand boxing aswell as his fans.
