Levi was telling a story not Lucy or Natsu every one has they on perspective of the guild... that’s why I say fairy tail is the mc because every one in fairy tail is one think about it or go watch it aging......... and in every other anime like one piece they are after luffy because he has the most money on his head , naruto because he as the nine tail fox , etc think about it come on it’s pretty easy to figure out if you take all this into consideration

Fairy Tail is my absolute favourite anime of all time. It gets a lot of hate because of the 'Fanservice' and 'Friendship' elements and it does have flaws in certain areas, but I think it's worth sticking with. The openings are amazing! I agree with previous comments, the OST is truly amazing.

Major issues were Defeating Acnologia (final antagonist of whole series) with some BS and animations were shit in final season as compared to 2nd one.... Second season was probably the most loved season as it has Grand magic arc and tartaros arc.

Ok I will explain (I am not bashing on you for liking it you can like anything) from an objective perspective. The animation is good, the OSTs are good and that's pretty much it. The characters are very basic, the goofy MC, the cool side character. The "humor" in the anime is 95% of fanservice, it feels like it is randomly thrown in because they don't know what to do. Most of the time a girl strips and some guys in the background get horny and the girl says not to stare or smth similar. Some arcs were soooooo boring. It has so many plot holes (ex: Erza had every bone in her body broken and she still managed to stand up and beat a fucking dragon). The worst thing is the power of friendship. They could be going against the most powerful being in the multiverse. They would be losing at first but then Natsu says something like "I can't lose now all my friends believe in me and I have to stay with them" and suddenly gets a ridiculous power boost. Again I am talking objectively since you can like anything you want.

It’s because they don’t understand they think that it’s about natsu or Lucy just getting stronger when they don’t know is that the guild it’s self is the main protagonist (character) and some ppl hate the fights because they don’t put they self part of the guild and understand the emotions of the fight most ppl pay attention to the impact and they wonder why they are going off friendships to get stronger. @@the2042 This 'explanation' tells me you either never watched the show or didn't bother to pay attention. Your 'worst thing' - the power of friendship is an in world mechanic explained and established in EPISODE 2!!!!!! Like a lot of people have said there is no main character other than the guild itself, sure the central team get a lot of screen time but that's because the story is told from Lucy's perspective (for the most part) so of course the people she spent most of her time with would be the ones featured the most. Your description of the fanservice is so vague as to be inconsequential - it could apply to literally any anime that has done more than to fanservice scenes in it's run. I'd not saying that FT doesn't do fanservice, it does, a little too much even - but your 'description' fits one, maybe two instances. Your 'understanding' of the characters tells me that if you watched the show AT ALL you didn't get past the 3rd arc. The 'goofy MC' - for one he isn't the MC - is only the starting point for Natsu. Is he a little simple- and single-minded .. yes. But he's also loyal to his family to the point of self sacrifice and determined to do the right thing for them even if it means hurting himself. He's also a lot smarter than he let's on and is usually a good indicator of whether or not someone is actually watching (as opposed to 'watching' aka I put it on but I'm doing other stuff and can't be bothered to pay attention but I will later complain when I don't get stuff the was fucking spoon fed to me) the show is they notice this. He's not a deep thinker or book-smart but he is very good at reading people and understanding them. Lucy - the other often misidentified as the MC, when she is actually the Narator - starts out as a rich girl runaway that complains about every little thing but if you pay attention you will notice that despite the complaints she will not hesitate to get her hands dirty and get into the think of things when needed. The girl when from one of the richest homes in Fiore to sometimes having to scramble for a job to pay her rent and she never once tried to go back. The longer the show progresses the more willing she is to put herself in harm's way to help people and for those not sleeping on her fights she constantly grows in that area too, holding her own just as well as the rest of the team despite being at least 5-6 years behind in terms of training and practical experience. These are only two examples and they are both VERY surface level examples of the so called 'basic' characters. Characters and character relationships is what FT is good at. Those and hype. You want to critisize FT - the story arc structure of the show is repetitive as fuck. It holds up all the way through to the time skip because there are enough character stories in there that you can look past the rote arc progressions but ultimately FT has as much of a problem with repeating story structure as Bleach. The difference is that I have seen FT from start to finish twice on my own and another 3+ time through reactors and I've never gotten bored where as I dropped Bleach before I hit 100 episodes and despite several attempts I have yet to get back into it. Because FT has so many characters with stories to tell that I don't care that progression of fights, of wins and losses is basically the same for the 4 straight arc in a row - that's not what I'm watching for anyway. You want another critique - FT has one of the worst filler arcs I have EVER seen, it's thankfully very short but it's dogshit, it straight up contradicts established character traits to tell is pointless little story and ultimately the thing that completely finishes it's burial - it serves no purpose for any character involved. And since I'm generous here's one more criticism - the fight animation is often limited and not very interesting. Then again budgets are a thing and apparently the studious that have had the chance to work on FT seem to not have learned how to maximize the use of one.

It's simple really - they think it's an easy target. The fact that FT has one of the more volatile fandoms out there doesn't help either. The truth is a solid 90-95% of the people that talk shit about FT have never seen a single minute of it or they watched one episode, without actually paying attention to it, just so they can say they've seen it and convince themselves they're not full of shit when talking about it. Most of the time the 'criticism' of FT is people parroting memes and bullshit that was intentionally taken out of content when it was first circulated. There are things FT could have done better but I dare anyone to show me a 'Perfect Show' and I will find them at least three things it could have done better in it's run. No show is perfect and the FT fans have never claimed that FT is somehow and exception to that - at least not the sane ones. There is however such a thing as "This show is perfect FOR ME". And plenty of us feel that way about FT. I personally feel that way for the first 22 Episodes of Claymore but that's a whole other can of worms. The point is - people hate on FT because it's 'the thing to do'. Because at some point some gatekeeping douche decided that if you like FT you have no taste in anime and people latched on to that crap. They hate on FT because it gives them a - very unfounded - sense of superiority over anyone that doesn't. That's really what it boils down to. One last thing - this is to anyone that decides to turn this into a comment war or some such crap. I can like a show, acknowledge it has flaw AND CHOOSE NOT TO ENDLESSLY DWELL ON THOSE FLAWS. It is not your job to try and ENLIGHTEN me and show me how wrong I am for liking FT so save both of us the time and don't try.

Every character in fairy does not have amazing attention and story. Most of the characters aside from the main group have barely any screentime and when they do have screentime they're just in the background standing and stuff. Also I wouldn't call it a masterpiece as the "power of friendship" ruins some of the fights in Fairy Tail, there is no tension or suspense when watching a fight scene when you clearly know they will use the "power of friendship" card. Just my and other people's opinion tho, also calling it underrated is bullshit.

It is not underrated, it is not a masterpiece. The characters are incredibly bland, other than the main characters nobody else has screentime or they just stand in the background doing nothing. The power of friendship ruins most fights, some arcs are so goddamn boring I can't even remember them. The fanservice (coming from someone that likes fanservice) is so overused and unnecessary like the studio/mangaka didn't have any ideas and just threw it in. It has so many plotholes that just don't make sense. Natsu can beat anybody LITERALLY anybody because of friendship. The MC is the typical goofy dumbass that has a friend who is the cool edgy side character. Also: Underrated means that something isn't given much attention even tho it is actually well made. And Fairy tail is NOT well made. If you respond it will probably be just saying that I am wrong without any explanation for it but whatever.

@@the2042 While youre argument is valid, I think you can say that for a lot of shonen anime (An example would be SAO). It really just boils down to what you prefer. Personally, I love Fairy Tail because the plot was easy to follow (Usually plots tend to just fly over my head) and I loved the characterization even though they were simple. Granted Fairy Tail had problems (I agree that there was way too much fanservice that was not needed) but I had fun watching it. I don't think it's a masterpiece but I do think it's relatively close. This is my opinion btw, I'm not bashing you.

@@GrimmDaGrubber I like to think Lucy is the true protagonist as she's usually the narrator and we get to hear her thoughts or inner-voice, which is something that we never get from Natsu. But it is pretty ambiguous, and I think Mashima stated that he doesn't really mind who people see as the protagonist, and that if you thought someone like Erza was the main character, he'd think that it's valid.

Fairy Tail is my favourite anime. It's the first anime I saw (not counting the ones that got mainstream in the west, such as Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh), and the anime that got me actually interested in anime. It's also the anime I rewatch any time I need a pick-me-up, and an anime I'll always have fond memories of. Definitely one worth checking out, despite what most anime fans may say.

The red dragon you keep seeing is Natsu's adoptive father. He raised him since he was young. The guy you said looked like an angel is actually Natsu's biology brother. Anyway too much to go into but Fairy Tail deals with a lot of topics, like, time travel, other dimensions (Edolas, with the cat army you saw), love, loss, friendship. All kinds, it's honestly my fav anime ❤️❤️❤️

Yes! Fairy Tail is a great anime, I remember crying when the last ep aired. A lot of people water it down to “My Little Pony” since Fairy Tail has the “Friends” and “Family” type theme. It has a lot of fan service, but otherwise it’s still great! It has amazing plot twists.

I watched Fairy Tail since and when I was 4🙂. Fairy Tail has always been my best anime though there are lots of cool anime now adays but I love everything about Fairy Tail. Its gives me goosebumps everytine I listen to these openings and endings. It makes me so happy but at the same time it will make me cry as hell dude. Love this anime. if you look for Masayume Chasing Fiesta Fight Back Mysterious Magic all using fairy tail in the search you will find actual music videos for the songs by the artists (sadly i suck at remembering their names) You wont be disappointed I was never into manga/anime but a friend told me about FT and as a rpg player the use of magic and guilds appealed greatly. One of the best series i've ever watched

One fight that would be cool to watch is Erza VS Pandemonium. Because it's basically her taking peoples expectations and thoroughly blowing them out of the water. I won't spoil too much, but it was during the tournament ark. Episode 167. She gets the entire arena of thousands of people chanting her name at the end. Really powerful and just kinda a slap to the face in case you forgot how OP Erza is. And in case that wasn't cool enough they named the whole episode after the fight, "100 against 1".
