The only problem you might be talking about is the fact that it lacks a certain goal ( like Luffy wanting to be the Pirate King, Naruto wanting to be Hokage, Asta wanting to be the Sorcery emperor), but there's also shonens like Bleach, Fairy tail or Katekyo Hitman Reborn that are great even without such a goal.

Listen, Fairy Tail is my FAVORITE anime even though it can get cheesy at times. I could go on and on. But there’s one reason above the rest that you should definitely watch it: given how much you dislike Sakura, you will REALLY appreciate the female characters in this show. They’re all just as badass and complex as the boys. Actually just overall, character development and uniqueness is one of the best things about this show. Even a lot of the minor characters get unique and in depth backstories, yet it never feels like the cast is too big or there’s anyone expendable, even among the background characters who are only there for comic relief.

But yeah this repeat in many more anime so no problem but like cake arc was boring and long for me , only final fight was so damn good) for bleach same . But yeah still love all those big shounen so much even they are like that xd

I think this would be a great anime to watch. Overall I really enjoyed it and it's in my top three favorites and the pacing is pretty good plus there's not much filler so I definitely recommend

There are actually quite a lot of fillers considering FT's length, it has around 60-70 filler episodes, but they're still enjoyable to watch if you're here for the characters, if you want the action/story then I'd say skip them.

@@AryaLux The fanservice became the main plot point of the anime, the power scaling of the characters didn't make any sense, characters like Laxus became a Natsu ripoff and lost all their charisma and individuality, every fight consisted in power of friendship and ass pulls. I obviously respect the viewers opinion that's the reason I said it was still enjoyable cuz at the end of the day something can be enjoyable even when it's an objectively poor creation, thing is the quality of the show is undeniably bad.

I really hope you start this series after one of your current ones. It's big 3 level imo. People love to hate on it because they need that one anime to gang up on. Haters will say alot like "Power of friendship". That's a lie. These fights are explained and even though every shonen uses POF. This one does it alot less than One Piece and DBZ. Side character development is way better than the big 3's no debate about that. They also say it copies one piece... that's a blatant lie. The story is nothing alike and neither are the characters. Only the guy who barely shows up looks a tiny bit like Shanks yet he changes his character design after the time skip so what. If it is like one piece wouldn't one piece fans like it more? Black Clover (best new gen) has way too many similarities to this show but we don't complain. Another (small) complaint is no consequences so it's too kid friendly. They have a whole arc dedicated to the future where everybody except the blonde dies because they made a mistake and couldn't beat the main villain. Last complaint one is fan service... I see that as an ABSOLUTE WIN

No disrespect since I am a fairy tail fan. But some of those points are kind of invalid. Fairy tail is good, but it definitely is not big 3 level. The fact that fairy tail is too kind friendly is 100 percent valid. Tell me how my boy makarov allegedly died 3-4 times and always came back alive. It never hit hard. The only impactful death I would say is igneel's death but even then we all thought he was dead and came back to fight acnologia and died instantly. Pretty sad but no major deaths other than that. Power of friendship is also a bit true. Natsu never lost a battle. Always ended up winning cuz of power of friendship. You can argue that they have it in other animes, but comparing it to the big 3, naruto lost to sasuke multiple times until their final battle where he finally won. Luffy also took a bunch of Ls in his adventure, as in when he lost to crocodile twice before finally beating him. Comparing that to fairy tail, my boy Natsu never took a huge L.

In Fairy Tail, it is stated (by Mavis I believe) that strong emotions enhance magic power. It is also stated that Fairy Tail is a guild where emotions and bonds are nurtured, more so than in any other guild. They are more than a simple guild, they are a very tightly knit family. This explains why Fairy Tail is the strongest guild, and why they almost always come out on top. It's important to understand that Fairy Tail is a story where love and friendship are a legit way to be stronger and a very integral part of the plot. This is why the power of friendship not only makes sense in Fairy Tail, but also is necessary. It's what the manga has been about from the start. If people don't like shows with friendship then that's their preference, but they shouldn't go around claiming that the fights in Fairy Tail make so sense and have friendship plot armor. That's simply false. They clearly didn't read/listen properly.

Natsu is the love interest and stronger teammate to Lucy, that introduces her to Fairy Tail. He is the Sasuke to her Naruto, but with less kissing. 8:10 That was Zero in the middle... It's an average shounen, so it's not the top best quality - especially animation and plotwise. But it's something really nice to like watch one or two episodes every week to chill out. Fairy tail is easily one of my favourite animes and i def think you should react to it, it has a few similarity's to black clover including the undeserved hate both animes are really great and 9/10 if somebody tells you not to watch fairy tail legit don't listen to them because ik for a fact you would really enjoy it. it has a ton of great characters, its funny, emotional, hype, just straight up fire. Obviously like pretty much every anime it has it's flaws like power of friendship which at this point is whatever cause like every shounen does it, and it does take like 20 or so eps to really start picking up but i promise its def worth a watch and also i love majority of the fillers it's one of the few animes where i actually enjoy fillers, black clover being another.

My favorite thing about FT is that it is it’s own thing. Unlike in most shonen. For the most part the entire FT cast is completely reactionary. In that, they don’t bother anyone and that because of their past, they get dragged into problems or when trying to find something important to them, they get pulled into something they don’t want. I think that lends to the story, because when crazy shit happens, everyone reacts surprised with you. It lends to help you feel like apart of the guild. Cuz when Natsu and the gang are like “yo what the fuck” you’re also like “yo what the fuck”. The reason I say they are reactionary is because they’ve already got what they want, a family. So they really would just be chillin if not for the shit tied to the past of the guild. Also as you’ve seen in the comments the POF shit just is non existent. One of the major fights I see people use as a example was even stated by the dude who lost that coincidence lended to their luck when his heart was destroyed (iykyk). Out of 350 eps (filler is canon, even mf daphne…we hate daphne) 9 OVA and 2 movies, POF is used blatantly like 3 times, and twice more iffy. People think when he mentions his friends he gets a boost but no, he’s just shouting his ideals. It’s hypocritical af when Naruto is yelling about being hokage is ok but people complain about Natsu yelling about his homies cuz logic ig. But yea it’s forgivable and fights are explained. I highly recommend as you can see and also while seemingly for kids. The show can get brutally dark with some undertones or mentioned action that make you just go “well gahdamn” EDIT: Last point too, people say no consequences but as you will see. The whole reason FT isn’t a slice of life wizard simulator ass show is because of consequences. And it shows how your action can not only affect those around you, but those WAY down the line. And everything in FT carries some weight that is brought to light sooner or later and it’ll have you going “Ayo wait bruh I REMEMBER THAT YOOO”

Ayo my guy I've read your whole text and I love the time you took to write it, FairyTail is in my top3 absolute favorite manga/anime (without webtoons, manhwas...) ! :) By the way, we don't care but my top3 favorites (here there's no first second third just my three favorite) manga/anime are: FairyTail (Zeleph x Mavis best ship and Natsu the goat, childhood show) Sinbad no Bouken (not Magi just SInbad's adventure cause I'm obsessed with that guy) Detective Conan (I've watched the whole show+25 movies and I will go watch the 26th, I love cases)

Some fans "defend fairy tail even though it is bad", I'm not one those fans, fairy tail is one of the best stories I've ever experienced. Its biggest problems are that it takes a little while to get going (about 20 episodes), the unnecessary fan service, and that the middle of each arc is often its weakest part. As for the power of friendship criticisms they are completely unfair, I've rewatched the show 3 times on my own and over a dozen times with reactors and the number of fights that I would say that end with power of friendship is about 5 and for a show that is 250 episodes long (exluding filler) I'd say that's forgivable. In fact here's a fun game you could play if you watch the show, keep a counter running every time a fight ends in a bullshit manner after episode 20 since that's the start of fairy tail getting serious.

Agreed, I love Fairy Tail, but not for it's realism or thrilling story telling, but rather, its uniqueness, it is doing its own thing , it isn't trying to be anything else and it knows that. This Anime is fun, goofy, intense at times, and goddamn is it emotional, and above all it is memorable, everything about this anime is lovable, mainly the characters and their progression. That is why I love this anime and regard it highly as being worthy of standing in the realm of the legendary classics, because it knows what it's trying to be, and it does it damn well.

fairy tail is a good anime imo, but theres a lot of haters purely because of the "friendship is magic" type shit in it. Started watching this towards the end of last year and finished it up a few months ago. I went in thinking it'd be bad because of the constant hate and dog piling the show recieves but I ended up loving it. The first arc is rough and budget isn't great but around the second or third arc it's solid and only gets better. Definitely recommend

You have probably already started watching so this won’t be helpful but In the case you haven’t. Fairytail is a great anime, at the start of the anime in my opninion slacks of a bit, the art style isn’t the best and the voices (in dub) sounds a bit squicky, that’s why whenever I rewatch Fairytail I always start from the grand magic games(the nornamant one) as it’s better art style and the voices sound better as the va have gotten used to the anime, one thing I do recommend is if you are planning to watch it, I’d start watching it soon as in a few months Fairytail 100 Years Quest is going to be animated and it’s the sequel, I think there’s going to be about 200 or more episodes of that, so it’s best to catch up sooner then later as Fairytail as it is has already over 300 episodes
