Fun fact: Ember and Wade being able to touch is actually based in real-life science. It's known as the Leidenfrost effect which is when water like Wade touches a hot surface like Ember which creates a layer of steam which acts like an insulator for Wade, preventing him from vaporizing and by extension, Ember from getting extinguished.

You cut up the part where once the dad is in the town, he gets Bernnie as his new name because his original name was too difficult for the inspectors to pronounce (it was pronounced literally as the sound of a furnance). That joke was also a reference to the "american" names people from abroad get when moving to other places where their names in their natal languajes are unpronouncable and very hard to document, like the asians.
