Fused Zamasu is an incredibly flawed being. It took him a long time with a lot of fighting to half-understand Goku's body and fighting prowess. then he merged with a god in a way that makes them like oil and water. their powers were multiplied, but now they're also clashing with each other, and so are overall not as refined.

A really dark fan theory I remember is Goku killed the Goku Black half of merged Zamasu during that massive Kamehameha blast, that's why 1/2 of him is muddy purple. But since Merged Zamasu is a Kai, that means Zamasu is forever merged with Goku Black's dead body and forever cursed to look like that mutated abomination

The idea of them bringing back Vegito along with him having blue hair is pretty awesome, with his lifespan only being an hour, But with a lot of power the lifespan will run faster, that will go the same with Gogeta but the only difference with him is that his lifespan takes around 30 minutes instead of an hour like Vegito, the only difference between those two characters is that one of them gets the job done and one doesn't

Gogeta was very close to defeating Broly, he probably would have killed him with that Kamehameha from the movie if it wasn't for chili wishing him back to Vampa, Which was the planet he grew up on, so Gogeta did get two jobs done, he defeated Janemba, And you can somewhat say he finished off Broly, he got Broly stunned, If it wasn't for chili wishing him back to his home planet he would have been dead, So Gogeta has taken the job done twice throughout his appearance, So Gogeta isn't a fraud, Vegito on the other hand has never got the job done, whether you say the Potara earrings are stronger than the fusion dance, But that doesn't clearly mean that Gogeta was weaker in the film, Goku and Vegeta have gotten a lot stronger after the events of the Tournament of Power, So Gogeta was a lot stronger than Vegito's appearance in Super.

Fun fact, In the manga goku used hakai against zamasu. The only reason it didnt work is because zamasu grabbed onto mai, so goku had to stop it.

Vegito is very slightly stronger than Gogeta. Goku has to lower his power level down to Vegeta’s level for them to do the fusion dance. Vegito is both of them put together at full power. It’s a very small difference in power though

One idea that would have been cool to see in this whole arc, would be trunks becoming into a super sayian god. Think about it, since he is fighting a god and is fighting with sayians that have the power of the god, he would learn and adapt this power into himself. Fighting amongst other god like beings would bring out his true potetional, thus being more poetic as he drafts zamasu. He could have still used the sword and the people’s energy, but the plus side is that he would have god like power to defend his world/timeline.

The reason why Goku and Vegeta didnt go Blue and then fused is because it would lock Vegito into just being in Blue.(SSB drains ki a lot faster and it would have essentialy speed up the timer on the fusion).

I believe it has to do with the fact that the technique was specifically designed to be more effective against evil beings. Back in DragonBall Z when Goku first fought Vegeta when Krillin threw the Spirit Bomb and it was about to hit Gohan we hear Goku tell Gohan he could bounce the attack to Vegeta since Gohan had no evil inside of him.

You know, I always hated how Trunks did the "final" blow to Zamasu. Its such an unbelievable ass pull that this super saiyan 2 with some blue god ki (?) was able to do something even Vegito blue wasnt able to. I get that they wanted Trunks to shine, saving his own timeline but they should have done it differently. This just feels like a very disappointing ending to an otherwise pretty good arc. Yes, I know its not over yet. But the fights basically are before Zamasu gets thanos-snapped.
