Lars, regardless of his skill, has written and performed drumbeats that will live in our heads forever. Deal with it! 😂
@donutdrums17 күн бұрын
All jokes aside, his drumming has influenced thousands of others, including me, and the metal scene wouldn't be the same without him.

When I was a kid and AJFA came out, it blew my mind, and I started playing drums after that. I know I'm not the only one that took that journey.
@davidramirezrodriguez337316 күн бұрын
And that is exactly why the hate, disrespecting his work, never practicing. Larsicism is a thing, fuck Lars for not being able to perform his own work...
@donutdrums15 күн бұрын
Anytime I hear any song off of AJFA I'm immediately transported back to being a kid and riding the school bus, listening to AJFA and Master of Puppets on my CD player, tapping a long and trying to figure out how the hell Lars is playing this stuff! He was a launching pad for many of us drummers.
@Deathintheair8912 күн бұрын
What do you mean lars has skill dude
@Lord_Raptor16 күн бұрын
I never understood the hate for Lars. He's a very important part of the band.. Aside from drumming, he helps with the sound, writing and arrangement of songs. He's a solid, powerhouse that has some creative and dynamic drum parts. He plays in Metallica, a straight forward metal band with straight forward drumming. He doesn't overplay and knows his roll as part of the rhythm section. What do you want him to do? 280 bpm double strokes on the kicks or break neck blast beats. It's not his style and it wouldn't fit. I admit his drumming as of lately hasn't been that interesting, but his drumming on the first 5 albums was incredible. Especially, AJFA...You can't deny that one at least.
@Fister_of_Muppets16 күн бұрын
Drumming aside, Metallica would have never had the success they did, or stayed together as long if it wasn't for Lars. Early on, he had a keen ear to what and where the music scene was and what they needed to do.

At the time Lars used 24 inch bass drums and with the last rack tom was a 15 inch power tom , you can't lower the toms w/o rubbing the bass drums with the toms . I have almost the same kit in gun metal, I'm 5' 9" , I've had my kit since 1990 and it's huge. And most durable kit with minimal problems compared to others I've owned and sold .
@donutdrums9 күн бұрын
That's a massive rack tom!! That must be a lot of fun to play on. I can imagine how fun it must be to roll down those toms.
@alberthofer6799 күн бұрын
@donutdrums they are, they still are, and I love the sound of 22 bass drums but after playing a few songs in practice, I go back to my 24s and the feel and sound makes me want to find another set of 24s. My opinion though. The big rack toms are cannons by the way.
@alberthofer6799 күн бұрын
The last time I recorded a thrash metal album I used my silky yellow kit which is identical sizes in drums. Another group of younger generation came in and was astonished by my kit. He said my rack toms were as big as his floor toms..I replied to him, wait until you see my floor toms !
@donutdrums9 күн бұрын
Haha I love it. You could always top of the set with a nice gong drum for a floor tom.

Lars is an enigma. How can a guy with so little talent playing drums become and remain the drummer in the biggest metal band of all time? U can’t deny him, like Ringo. Both were little more than beat keepers yet both are important to rock history. Baffles me, especially when i see videos of little girls playing WAY better!
@TOXSICK-TEABAG8 күн бұрын
I just see this as part of the show more than a drum solo. It's just lars playing the drums and interacting with the crowd, the drum battle etc it's not about showing of his drum skill as he certainly isn't the best technical drummer, and he never tries to be. He's a performer, that's what I always loved, he's a drummer that is like a frontman at the same time. He puts on a show and his crowd interaction has always been on point. He's helped write some of the most iconic songs in metal that still hold up today along with some iconic drum pieces. Not to mention all the drummer He's inspired along the way. Love it.

This drum solo was a bonus to the entire show and as a kid it was very inspiring. Lars is a great entertainer and I absolutely agree with you. His performances and involvement in the song writing process were definitely inspirational for thousands of drummers.

People like to pick on Lars. It became trendy in the online drum community. The truth is....follow any drummer that plays as much as Metallica does & for as long as theyve been playing....you can easily make a compilation video of mistakes (dropped sticks, missed beats etc etc) & make them look like the worst drummer ever 🤷. Its easy to do. In reality.....humans make mistakes. Even the best that have ever done it....screw up sometimes. Heck....you can even make Buddy Rich look bad if you wanted to. Its not hard. The truth is....Lars was a very big staple in heavy metal. He changed the game in many ways. Not bc he was ever the best out there....but bc of what they were able to accomplish at a given time.

Very well put and 100% true. Lars is an easy target unfortunately and his accomplishments and positive attributes often get over shadowed by the criticism and hate.
