Hey team Donut, a pleasant reminder that better help is almost a scam. Their "therapists" aren't certified. They also allegedly sell user data to other tech companies, which do targetted advertisement based on it. That's just wrong in my personal opinion. There have been a lot of cases of poor service against them, with multiple KZbinrs also coming out against them. I understand that you might have missed the red flags as their motto seems very positive, but I wouldn't trust a corporation like that with my mental health. I know you guys don't mean harm, but just a note for next time. Stay blessed y'all.

I had a horrible experience. Told my therapist I was going thru a mental crisis and he told me to call the cops. I didn't then 3 months later I had a mental breakdown and damaged the house I was staying in. Cops got called and charged me with 3 felonies and put me in a suicide tank. Thank God I was able to heal my dang self and God allowed the court to drop all charges. Was the worst choice of my mental health life. I almost want to sue them if I could. I ended up moving states, opening a creative community center (closed now) and buying a house so things do get better if you put in the work and don't rely always on others

Jaguar owner….2018 … maintenance at 60,000 miles and above is when it really hits. Faulty coolant pipe under the supercharger at the dealer costs $4k or so …. it’s a $44 part.… just had it done 3 weeks ago. Also, dealers are advising they won’t work on Jaguars that are 8 years or older due to shortages of knowledgable technicians… so now you gotta find someone willing to work on a limited production foreign car. Then there’s the supercharger issues, the timing issues, and the electrical gremlins. Amazing car, sick engine, but when service hits it’s really no joke. Sandro nailed the oil change price at $200!
@h7pubg4 ай бұрын
why did you go to a dealer in the first place? jaguar dealerships are dying and they’re reaching for service money out of desperation. if you went to an independent like most owners the prices would have been much more reasonable. these cars really aren’t that difficult to own with basic common sense. i daily drive a 14 year old jag with almost 140k miles and have had zero issues in the 3 years and 40k miles i’ve put on it. outside of oil changes and a couple bushings
@gww7304 ай бұрын
The coolant pipe issue definitely sucks, but fortunately mine went while my 2015 R was still under the extended warranty. I'm at 75k, and I've heard of some people having supercharger coupler issues, but I've not heard of (or experienced) any timing issues or electrical problems. What happened to your 2018? And you're right about the Jaguar dealer network, but since our cars are mechanically so similar to 2014-2022 Range Rovers and Sports plenty of Indy shops can make repairs. I also wouldn't recommend an F-Type if you can't do basic DIY maintenance since it's so easy. Oil changes literally take around 25 min, and changing items like brake pads are just like any other car.

How TF do you put the Jag in the maintenance category? The Camry comes with a 3 year warranty, and a 5 year drivetrain warranty. As a Jaguar Land Rover technician, I approve of this decision. Your biggest concern with the Jag will be keeping an eye out for the plastic coolant pipes which you can honestly buy a kit with a metal upgraded pipe for under $250. And if you live in a rainy area, I'd recommend you block off the hood vents, they're not really doing anything except dropping water on to your direct Injectors which won't really damage them persay but you don't want them to have them fail and not come out when the time comes because they're absolutely seized in there due to corrosion. We had to remove the cylinder head on one cause it was seized in there. Granted these are minor things really. It's a nice car, I'd get a coupe, not a fan of the convertible, but that's just preference.
@minimumeffortenthusiast82424 ай бұрын
Also, stay away from the 4cyl newer models. The new Ingenium engines while not unreliable so far, they're a spaghetti of coolant plastic lines and hoses. I can't see it ending well long term, the engine itself is solid so far.

I had this experience irl. I went to the Hyundai dealership and test-drove the 2024 Kona. It was the standard and all it had going for it was the dash looking futuristic af. For 27K it had no power seats, cloth seats, and AWD. Then I went to CarMax to test drive a 2018 BMW 230i convertible. It was such a night-and-day experience. The BMW was punchy, fast, and loads of fun. It was 23K. Needless to say, I went with the 2018 BMW, all leather interior, under 50K miles, power seats, and memory seats, I can run my errands in it, my dogs fit and I can let the top down since I live in the south. M&R have been okay. My halo light went out and the headlight needed to be replaced. I heard it was about a $1200 repair but I got it done free thru my car dealership warranty program.

Don't be fooled by HP numbers - I've had more fun in 60 hp shitboxes than in 300+ sportscars. In this instance the Camry is the better overall choice, especially if it's a manual. Driving a slow car fast etc.

Here's the Jaguar problem, depending on the engine, and it's expensive. The cooling system is one of the most complex I've ever seen...which on it's own isn't a terrible thing as it's mostly reliable. Mostly. There is a coolant pipe that runs vertically on the front of the engine. Jaguar's part was a two piece clamshell plastic resin design. The welds of the clamshell tend to split and leak. The NEW part is a solid tube...much much better design. Because, if the original part fails you have to: 1. Remove the intake cover (that is the full width and length of the engine). 2. Remove the supercharger with lower intake (also the full width and length of the engine). 3. Replace the part. 4. Reinstall everything. It's a lot of hours of labor, and you don't particularly want to do it yourself because there's no good way to grab and lift those parts and there is a dowel that aligns the two which tend to get stuck. With that being said, it's a one time repair and everything else about the 3.0 Supercharged engine seems pretty reliable. Also, the F-Pace is one hell of a fun car to drive, I highly recommend it. The gearing, power, and handling just makes it want to GOOOOOOOOOO! The paint is crap though...ugh. I never could get it looking perfect.

As someone who owns a 2007 Lexus LS460L… I can tell you, long term owning an aging luxury car sucks. If it has electronically adjustable shocks. You are looking at $600-$1000 each if like my LS460L you have the air struts, nearly $1,800 each. If you need to direct injectors, you have 8, instead of 4, at $275 each that’s a HUGE difference. My V8 Lexus has 2 engine air filters and 2 cabin air filters. It it much tighter to work on stuff, it has a bigger radiator etc. so yeah basic maintenance may not be horrible but as you approach the 200,000 mile mark, the Camry is much more sensible.

Not Ford derived at all - but built in leased space within Ford's Brigend factory. The confusion comes from the earlier AJ V8s (used in Ford's Thunderbird and the Lincoln LS) and the Ford Duratec-derived V12 in the older Aston Vantage. The AJ133 5.0 has nothing in common internally with any Ford engines.

I daily drove both a V6 F-Type RWD and V8 F-Type AWD in Canada with snow. Both cars had high mileage. Only had one issue and it was the coolant Y pipe on the V6. It's a known issue and didn't take much work to fix. Otherwise both cars were rock solid even in Canadian winters. Just get good winter tires. The only downside was fuel economy was pretty bad on both cars, but the sound made up for it everytime.
@gww7304 ай бұрын
2015 R, and at 75K the only real issues I've had were a rear diff leak and the damned Y pipe (both fixed under warranty). Super easy to work on and DIY maintenance is a breeze. Fuel economy is actually pretty decent when I'm in normal mode, but I just can't resist keeping it in dynamic!
