Hey people may be “bitching” that it ain’t a new episode and I get that, but i appreciate this directors cut with more detail and depth. The whole point is since I can’t enjoy doing this myself due to lack of money/space/time at least being able to watch someone else get to clearly just enjoy themselves. I also dont like that on a hot day in traffic she likes to get hot and stay hot until moving. Full size radiator but no space for a second fan. Id like one day to be able to pull an 11-12 second quarter mile but not sure ill make it. Getting older with health issues tends to drain your energy, motivation and money. Thanks for the insights.
@lordomacron37196 ай бұрын
A little modest aero package should let you get those last couple of seconds by being able to hold a little higher corner apex speeds. A full splitter at the front would be too much for road use but some dive planes could easily be incorporated and a basic rear wing should give more confidence on the rear. Then it just a matter of dialling in a set up over time. And to be fair the new civic has a better stock aero package than the old civic so if you do wish to match performance I think aero is the most logical next step to look at.

Just a side note with the stereo, with these small hatchback cars you can actually get away with just a cheap small sub/amp combo especially since 99% of civics these days already have an aftermarket headunit in them. Even if you don't have an aftermarket one already, you can get a cheap Bluetooth/radio only one for around $30. I slapped a sub/amp combo in both of my CRX's going with the cheapest ones I could find and they definitely improve sound quality drastically even with keeping the stock speakers (or if they're blown using the cheapest replacements) and the total upgrade costs around $100 ($125 for me cause I had to replace blown stock speakers) plus it weighs less. I think they're plenty cause I still get people telling me they could hear my radio from inside their house and I have the bass levels set to be as close to the same level as the other speakers as possible to just have a more full sound and not trying to shake the road or anything. One of my CRX's also is even using an underseat sub/amp combo in the back. I think the effectiveness of these subs is mostly due to the acoustics of the hatch area. Oh another little upgrade I do when adding a sub is since I am running the power from the battery into the firewall is I add a split in the wire so I can have access to the battery from inside the car for my jump battery (which I installed inside the car with straps and I recharge it off the car while driving) or a tickle charger without having to pop the hood. Since my jump battery is always hooked up too I can jump start the car with the push of a button from the driver seat. One of my CRX's I just put a whole second fusebox cause I had added a ton of accessories (LED accent lights everywhere, Screens, Solar panel trickle charger, and so on) and it makes their installation a little easier than splitting off the original fuse box with fuse inserts since that will get very crowded very fast.

Yeah ITB's are cool but no turbo was a weird choice. Just invest in something that is high quality but moderate, no boostedbois big turbo ebay stuff or crazy complex kits like they did in the 350z series. Should be just enough that would push it to Type R levels of power (350wheelish). Then focus mainly on an efficient and reliable cooling system and ditch big power numbers so it could take the track abuse for a few laps. Easily would match type r or surpass it

That box was a serious limiter for the stereo, All you would need is a little deadener in the doors and hatch. And maybe a 2 side tape for the bottom of the tag as it likes to rattle bad. But the stereo got a huge crutch with that box.

1:06:20 When talking amplifiers and speakers what you need to match is the impedance, the power doesn't necessarily need to match, as long as the speaker can handle at least the same amount of power the amp can put out. If the speakers have lower impedance you'll either draw more power than the amp or the speaker can handle, and one of them, of maybe both, will blow. And if your speaker have higher impedance you'll never be able to draw out the full power of the amp.

When installing audio, DO NOT match speaker and amp RMS WATTS!! always have twice the rms output on the amp, in that way you can run the amp on half power amd it won't heat up running at the max all the time to match the speakers, longer lifespan on the amp🤘🏻 and forget all about huge ass caples, match ur gauge to ur Amperes going through the cable! Thin cables installs easier.. ex. You can run 50A on a 10mm² cable at 4 meter..

it's already at 230 hp, even a small turbo could probably put it over 300, but they built it around natural aspiration so they would have to change around some things. It also isn't very roomy in the engine bay, squeezing all the piping for a turbo would probably be a huge pain
