I think it’s worth mentioning, those Carbon Revolution wheels on the GT350R were also offered as an option on the 2017 Ford GT (the GT came later than the Mustang, but the option was announced before they even started handing out allocations) and I don’t understand why anybody would’ve speced it without them

before gt350r carbon wheels cost 5x-10x more and only came on Koenigsegg from factory if i remember correctly. So getting them on less than 100k MSRP car was a bargain.

Cool thing about Campagnolo is they make some of the best bicycle parts you can buy. When I used to bike long distance with my brother we always looked for Campagnolo parts when building our bikes. I didn't know they also made the rims that went on the infamous M1; and as a big BMW fan that really puts a smile on my face!

The Pontiac Trans Am wheels also have a chrome version that they only made three sets of them for a detraoit demo show, and instead of being the stock 7" wide they were 8" wide, they also had some subtle differences in the edges on the wheel for some smoother edges. Some of the best looking "stock" wheels i've ever seen.

I did an oem swap on my focus! Went from cracked hubcap 16in factory poopers to some dope 17in (incidentally color matched) focus ST wheels. Now it looks much faster than it is!

I love 5-stars and the chrome IROC wheels look amazing. The KMC Stealths are my favorite wheels, they re not OEM, but they look great - They re five stars where each spoke is angled outward and the have a diamond cap in the middle. I had them on a 85 Monte Super Sport and a 87 Cutlass Supreme.

Usually tho, it isn't worth it push it all the way back there. Especially when the store is busy. Like a week ago I picked a cart with a wheel that was stuck and whenever I moved the cart it make a horrrrrible screeching sound which was insanely loud and everyone around me in the store would look at me. Up until December 2021 I worked for Carbon Revolutions, the Australian company that makes the Carbon Fibre rims featured on the Ford Mustang. That model wheel is no longer made but we made the rims for the Mustang, the new rims on the new Corvette C7 and C8, they also make rims for Ferrari and Renault. Some of the designs coming out of CR are really cool to look at but I always wished that they made deep dish wheels... :)

15:15 there is a lot of magnesium in cars today especially on the interior and it takes a tremendous amount of sustained heat to make it burn. Isuzu trucks and SUVs in the 80's came with white steel rims factory, cool little note when Isuzu shipped the TrooperII in the 80s they would ship the backseat separately of the vehicle to avoid the tariffs for passenger vehicles since two seaters where considered utility vehicles and shipped with no tariffs And the dealer installed the seat upon arrival.

I’m a huge fan of people putting OEM wheels from one car on other cars that no one else thought they would look good on, so naturally I’m also a sucker for the salad spinners because GM had no clue how right they got the euro look. Mk2 Supra wheels are goated, same with the Starion 5-spokes; I’ve seen them look great on Miatas, S13s, and old Civics alike. Maybe a hot take: the Miata daisys, SRT4 wheels, and Mustang tri-bars are a huge missed opportunity for wheel-swapping. The Miata wheels mimic the old racecar look well enough that they look great painted black or dark gold, and I’ve seen some great shots of MG Bs, Spitfires, and Caterhams wearing them. The SRT4s would look great on a 2g Eclipse imo, and I REALLY wanna see the tri-bars on an old Miata or like a lifted Geo Tracker or something.
