Myousic ummmm fully built internals and stock block making 1120 wheel and this 2j going on its second year and highly reliable. Don't be silly, there's 1600 wheel builds running stock block but that is the limits of the stock block. 1100 is absolutely safe on a well tuned and properly built 2j. Not skimping on parts to make power on the cheap and you can make 1500 all day on the stock block.

Protess5 you are 100% correct on stock internals you are maxing out around 600 to keep some reliability. A wonderful build on stock internals will be around 500 wheel and you will have a quick daily that is fun to drive and super responsive. 600 on stock internals you are starting to ask for reliability issues if you drive hard... 600 is a joke to the block and tranny. Another thing that's highly important if your asking for 600 wheel on stock internals is a clean tune by a tuner who understands the limits of stock internals. It's not hard at all to build a 2j to make enough power to destroy its self quickly on stock internals... 550 to 600 on stock internals and a good tune and you have a daily driveable that is very quick and very responsive just a total hoot to drive and enough power to get you in trouble if you dont know what your doing with it but not enough to just now the tires off in 4th gear. We have built and tuned a lot of 2j in the 500 to 600 wheel range that are on 100% stock internals and those engines have no problems and a few of the people we have built and tuned them for daily drive them and they are perfectly reliable builds that are happy with just normal maintenance. With us 600 wheel is the absolute MAX that we will build and tune for on stock internals. I have seen people build 700 wheel on stock internals and they take it for a little while but a rod failure is the end result... A very costly end result.... That extra 100 wheel is NOT worth it and if your building for 700 you should just go ahead and build for 900 as costs will be close and you will have more on tap with some tuning time and you will have a reliable 700 wheel that you know when you run a pull or two that the car is going to do its job and take you home after.

I had one it was my first car. The transmission blew out at around 60k miles. I bought it when it had about 50k miles on it drove it everyday for about a year it was a fun little car. I ended up buying it for around 800$ from a lady that wanted to buy a new car and it was her dads. The car was in great shape but for a Toyota it's a fairly shitty car to drive, I ended up junking it and had it crushed and earned about 400$ I didn't realize they were in such high demand. if I knew that I probably would have been able to sell it for about 10x that.

Fun fact: In my country (Indonesia) there's 2 supras made from 2 different automotive company, one is the OG 2JZ Toyota Supra and the other is a HONDA Supra, it's a (I believe) 125cc bike and recently had a new facelift with a new 150cc 4 stroke 1 cyl engine. So essentially there are 2 supras, except one is the legendary car and the other one is just a plain old motorcycle.

Drag strips are usually prepared which makes them better for traction than the tarmac runways. A good example of this is Sal Pattel's Viper. It ran a 6.96 @ 215 mph in that 1/4 in 2012, then when he rebuilt the car for 1/2 mile he ran 220 in the half mile. His current record (which is the record for any rwd street legal car in the 1/2 mile) is 246 mph.

The car seems to only have regular seat belts and a roll bar (not a full cage), so there's no way you could (legally) drive that thing over 180mph in any 1/4 track. So it's too fast (in it's own class) for 1/4 mile. Yeah, it might be clickbaity but we love Donut anyway.

@@befer that's in Japan for the 0-300kmh challenge back in the 90s. I'm talking about a similar event setup but in the US. The US has more speedway ovals, why not utilize them for maximum speed events?
