For anyone wondering, using the equation hp=(tq)(rpm)/5252 the peak power of 520hp was achieved at ~7000 rpms. Also, for what its worth, there will be some thrust generated by the exhaust placement. On the old world war 2 fighters they figured out they could go another 10 mph due to angling the exhausts properly, especially on the spitfires.

In reality, I imagine that doing so probably saves a lot more weight than replacing some parts with carbon fiber, of the 700lb reduction mentioned I'd imagine most of that was the interior (and sound deadening), as well as things like exhaust system and other creature comforts and no-longer-applicable legal requirements. Replacing some metal with carbon fiber is certainly helpful, but probably isn't the most of it.

Actually Spoon Brake kits are made by Nissin. I'm not sure which model you held in your hands.. You mentioned 6 piston. It doesn't look like the normal 4 pot spoon ones.
