I’d believe in doing the best of both. So cheap rims and expensive tires. Because the rims matter a lot less than the tires in terms of performance. 4 pounds isn’t that much of a difference when you’re running a stiffer/lower set up, whereas if you max out your usable grip you’re going to have a much more noticeable improvement
@ALittleBitOfGay

Brandon Miller but at the same time, if they hit a big pothole or something, the better wheels (and probably the OEM wheels) MIGHT bend, whereas the cheaper ones will definitely bend and could crack. So not only are the more better ones safer, but if you live in a hole-y area, then you could end up saving money over the years.

The hypergrams are the lightest @ 16.33lbs for 17x8s. TSW Bathursts are 17lbs, nothing else compares that I've found. The Konigs are around 220, the Bathursts around 330.

Cheap subwoofers sound like crap. But you don't have to spend $1000+ to get quality. My powered sub is from Rockford Fosgate. It is a 12 inch Punch woofer with a 300 watt rms mono amp. Great bass in my truck.
@AFlyingCookieLOL
@AFlyingCookieLOL 4 жыл бұрын
@@enlightenedidiot9552 Let me correct that. Poorly designed subwoofers sound like crap. Price is not a sure determination of performance. SPL in a car is easy and 250-300$ sub can give JL and fosgate a run for it's money. Most "Car" subs are overpriced because of branding. You can hit 130dB with just 300Ws with the right woofer and still get deep bass

I don’t agree. Being faster is different than being safer. Looots of tests are done on oem parts for road use. They did not try it under heavy rain for exemple. Also, they kinda know what they are doing and used “appropriate” parts installed the right way. We can not expect it from everyone diy-ing it in their driveway.

Honestly, I'm a budget man. I can't spend more on tires and wheels than I did the entire car. Now, I have spent way more on wheels, tires and suspension all together.. But, I have the XXR 530/18's(Gold) in a 33 offset 7.5" wide(w/o rolling any fenders) and Nitto NeoGen 225/40R18 high performance all seasons.('04 VW Jetta GL) cost=$1000+ accompanied with KSport Kontrol Pros fully adjustable coilover kit(another $1000+) I honestly can't tell you how happy I am with the results. I've since added several other chassis and suspension, upgraded rotors and pads, to put about $3200+ worth of handling and stopping power to this set up in moderate totals. Doing all my own wrenching, I might add. It has transformed this car and I would do it all over again for the value, performance versus costs, over and over again. I shot for midgrades and I LOVE IT!!

Obviously the suspension is most of it, but I think the lighter flow formed wheels played a serious part in how much less bouncy high car was. Less inertia means the suspension can reset the suspension quicker, meaning less bump.
