@Jack Russelle Lewis it doesn't. the main problem with ethanol is rioting the fuel lines. as long as these parts can be modified or replaced to with stand ethanol it would be fine. I have a e85 converted s3 and it has been running fine. just need the right mods.

@@StopTeoriomSpiskowym Fortunately, the surplus can be reused. BMW, for example, uses additive manufacturing (3D printing) for various parts already, like cylinder head for the S58 engine. I'm sure there's increased costs involved with investment, research and development but the parts are available in consumer-ish products so it't can't be that expensive. I think it's the time consuming process that is the biggest hurdle for reaching cost effectiveness. Just, speculating.

old f1 engines used to do about 20,000rpm. they rev lower these days because they can make power at lower revs thanks to the turbo. also, they only have a set number of engines to last a full season, so dont stress them like they used to. i think the regulations cap the rpm to 15,000, but this is rarely if ever reached

But if your just doing highway pulls I honestly can see why and EV is unappealing considering your just driving in a straight line. In that case yeah the sound is half the experience as otherwise it's a pretty mindless way of driving "fast".
