When they talk about and pass laws regarding "no bail for non-violent offenders", people like her is who they let out of jail. It'd not be the most terrible policy in the world, except for the fact that they don't use it on first time offenders doing shoplifting or whatever. They use it on lifelong offenders - and they don't care if it was violent or not unless it was murder or extremely close to murder. Plenty of times they'll even release people who shot at the police on recognizance, as long as no officer was actually hit. There is no excuse for a person who is in their right mind to act the way they do, with the police or hospital staff. Way too many people are so used to throwing a temper tantrum and getting what they want that they think they can do it with impunity no matter the circumstances. I'm sure you see it at your work all the time. It's why you see all these spoiled brat adults who get arrested screaming "I can't breathe" at the top of their lungs because they think it's a get out of jail free card. Before that it used to be asking to go to hospital after they get 'cuffed because they think that means they won't go to jail after.

There's definitely a charge for intentional spread. Most states don't have a specific statutes so battery, assault and the like are usually used. But outside of obvious cases; to prove someone tried to spread something intentionally in court is a near vertical climb. I’m a RN. I’ve been slapped, kicked, scratched, peed on, had many inappropriate sexual advances, hair pulled, spit on and bitten. Being spit on and/or bitten is the WORST luckily in 18 years I’ve only been bitten one time but the tests and prevention meds they make you go through suck so, so bad. It’s ridiculous what 1st responders have to deal with. I had a nurse manager one time lose his job and almost his license after he had a known HIV patient, who’d been in a fight and was bleeding from the mouth spit in his face and my manager reacted and shoved the man. The patient was later charged with assault with a deadly weapon bc that’s exactly what that is…but my poor manager had to go through so much hell and almost lost his career when he was a victim! It’s like they just expect us to sit back and get repeatedly assaulted. Absolutely crazy. People can attack us any which way but lord don’t you react like a human…that’s a no-no…😡🙄

6 months and a ton of testing.... Can confirm. I work security in Los Angeles and was both bitten and scratched by a transient while removing them from the property. Thankfully, LAPD was able to interject and assist quickly. This was years ago and, thankfully, everything turned out fine. It was a battery of testing and shots that had be endured though before I was able to go back to work or even to be able to do anything with my lady other than a kiss.

I commiserate with you on the changing clothes as soon as you got home. I did HVAC work for 37 years and some of the calls I ran were in the nastiest places. I was exposed to homes with roach and bedbug infestations and would find them in my work clothes after I had left the job. Mr. Mcfucknut was in there for an “overdose” but really he was being an ass and wasting time. I went into his room to cuff him to the bed since I was the only CO there because why not but he got ahold of me somehow and hit me a few times. Felt like a toddler was hitting me with a pillow and when his little kitten punches didn’t work he resorted to teeth. my dumbass turned around to call for the city cops to come in and I turned around to see his teeth halfway in my arm and that’s when I felt my skin split and I got a weird cold pain like ice was pressing against my arm. I went to hit the fuck head but the little bitch boy city cop came in and pulled me out before I could sadly. When I got pulled out it tore and cut my arm where his teeth slid and I had to go back to good inmates room to calm down so I didn’t start losing it on both the city cop and mcfucknut. I had a scar there for a few years and then I got a really shitty sunburn that bubbled up and kinda tore off so it blended the teeth scar in. I can still find em if I pull my skin tight enough.

Myself, my partner and the K-9 officer we work with, we all had to go get tested for MRSA after I walked into a restroom and saw a guy naked doing some kind of drug ritual while soaking his T-shirt in the toilet and draining it onto his face and drinking the water. Homeboy had open sores all over. Yeah that was a fun arrest. Hey, we were all cleared though.

So the court will drop half the charges and give probation or a deferred sentence on the rest. You pretty much need to willfully go murder someone to get jail time in most of the US. Yet we somehow still have an enormous prison population. Which I guess says something about how much crime we have. They don't even prosecute car theft in some cities any more. Definitely won't pursue them.

I used to work for the local council, parks would have needle TRAPS, they'd attach needles to branches and spring load them with TRIPWIRES. A couple of workers got caught by them, and had to do the whole 6 month thing. They even put needles on tops of walls facing upwards, the worst I saw was on a primary school wall... SCUM.
