Jesus Christ. NO ONE is saying he didn't deserve to die, or that he wasn't the enemy. Enough with all that bullshit. You can't expect warriors in combat to be angels, and everyone knows how the Geneva Convention makes them go out of their way, unnecessarily at times. He shouldn't have gone to prison for first degree murder. That being said, if we haven't abolished or ratified the Geneva Convention yet, what apparently happened was he shot him, and then went up close to knife him. Dont get triggered by this, but some people see that as cold blooded, a sadistic satisfaction, rather than hot blooded war killing. Still doesn't deserve a murder sentence. He was convicted of posing with the body. Hes bloodthirsty, but it didn't go to far where he is a real danger to people on our side or to commit mlre outright true unjustified acts of violence. Then again they cant just pretend the Geneva Convention doesn't exist. Then his buddy said it wasn't Gallagher, but that he strangled him, out of mercy so Iraqis wouldn't do worse to him.

Update for anyone Eddie strolled out of court a free man he was only found guilty of appearing in a inappropriate picture and had already spent more than double the time before the trial. The case against Eddie killing the isis soldier took a massive blow when the prosecutors main witness said on the stand that he not Gallagher killed the fighter buy plugging his breathing tube, a mercy killing so the fighter wouldn’t be tortured to death by Iraqi forces
@thetute594 жыл бұрын
@Yeshua is Lord. Eddie was only found guilty for posing in an inappropriate picture. However, he already spent so much time that he served his sentence twice (and therefore was free to go). One witness later testified that eddie didnt kill the isis fighter at all. The witness apparently said that he himself (the witness) killed the ISIS-fighter. He did so in order to prevent the ISIS-soldier being tortured to death by iraqi forces. Basicly a mercy killing. Hope this helps.

As a Marine and combat veteran I believe and taking it to the bad guy. Big time- our job is to break shit and kill people not nation building. We are warriors for our nation and we have to do the right thing for our teams and fellow servicemen and women. That said, I'd like to point out (not making excuses) war sucks and it should suck. The "greatest Generation" did some pretty awful things, things far worse than anything I have heard that this SEAL was supposed to have done and it worked. We didn't revert into some awful nation we didn't become barbaric. I worked closely with many teams and I have my beliefs of what went on but I will keep those thoughts to myself now and always. I wasn't a SEAL having friends there and working very closely with them doesn't mean a lot they fight their war and I will not disparage them ever. This is why I couldn't reenlist. I was with 2/4 in Ramadi 2004. The calls of individual Marines weren't called into question until my 3rd deployment in Iraq. We detained a terrorist arms dealer by setting up an improvised road block. We scared the life out of him apparently because the arms dealer was old and had a heart attack and later died. We tried to give him aid, but it didn't work. Less than a week later the pussy nerd NCIS agents wanted statements, but no one was charged. In war we shouldn't be 2nd guessing ourselves. We need to be held to standards yes, but we need to make sure we come home. I knew too many guys come back in body bags. We need to stop the politics in war.

Actually there has been a set of rules and regulations reguarding prisoners of war within islam for over 1400 years now. We do have rules of engagement & have historically avoided civilian/ non combatant bloodshed, and the prophet himself did dislike utilizing catapults in warfare due to harm of civilians, (as opposed to night raids which is different) In any case, yeah we have rules of engagement, currently some or most prominent islamic groups don't follow them as they should be or have simply ignored them. In today's contemporary warfare it is fully possible to follow all islamic rules of warfare, however it would make some operations difficult or the global effort a bit more murky, for example if a US civilian who is muslim and supports islam is capable of targeting HVT's such as drone operators, various Defense contractors & organizations, house intelligence committee members, those who propagate AUMF's etc etc etc, ( people DIRECTLY involved in the war effort against islam) how much information is required before engaging a target? Example: X person is in the national guard & thus a member of the US military, is such a person a legitimate target as a open combatant or are they simply a mercenary who isn't directly fighting islam but is acting in his/her financial interests and hasn't actually seen combat or targeted muslims directly, same example applied to house committee members, various organizations, etc etc. The thing is this war on terror is something that is being fought on multiple fronts in complicated ways and it's difficult outside of a battlefield to actually designate an individual as a legitimate target without actually fully researching the person and finding out if they have personally been invovled.

Eddie is clearly being framed for something he didn’t do and seriously cutting the pants might be so that the guys legs were all shot up... he was clearly doing medical procedures removing the pants in order to find the open artery and than using said cloth of the pants as a rope to tie off the limb to reduce the blood flow so the bleeding won’t be so heavy and it does work... although it would be hard for the limbs when under exposure to this restriction of blood flow for a long period of time can cause nerve damage but yeah... these smaller navy seal soldiers that were under eddies authority were pussies who can’t take leadership and are in fact conflicting when it comes to cooperating as a team... when Obama gotten into office we saw navy seal program turned from a mere 50 members to nearly 300 members 4 years later which was a very high increase...

This reminds me of the British Army Officer Brian Wood who led a bayonet charge against terrorist forces at the Battle of Danny Boy. Years after the battle, he found out that allegations of war crimes were being brought against him. Eventually, he was acquitted and it turned out that the lawyer who brought forth the allegations was just looking to make a quick buck by winning this case when all of the evidence had long since been lost. Just really sucks to see decorated war heroes not being giving their due just because of some assholes that don’t like them.

You can clearly see by Eddie’s demeanor in the video, that he did not kill the fighter, he brought back to base and tried to save to get intel from. He doesn’t look haunted by guilt, at that point he still has faith that he will be found justifiably innocent

He killed a 17 year old ISIS fighter who was sedated, having been captured by US forces (i.e. he was a prisoner of war and thus killing him was a war crime). He chopped their head off and then proceeded to pose for pictures with it and then send it to his buddies. There's also the allegations from fellow Navy SEAL snipers that he shot and killed two unarmed civilians, a little girl and an older man, and that he bragged about indiscriminately killing people. We've had plenty of "investigations" from NCIS and upper command at Quantico. I feel bad for the chief as I've worked under a few chiefs that had his mentality about work and finishing the mission. @J D Killing Hitler alone wouldn't have stopped WWII, it took the allies invading germany from all sides to actually stop them. Kill hitler before the war, someone else would take his place and do the exact same thing. Kill him during it, you weaken the axis command, but they had plenty of other people at that point to take his place. Hitler orchestrated alot of it, but once he had done that, almost everyone in Germany was on board with the Nazi ideology. Our enemies are not people, they are dumbass ideologies that people adopt. Of course, putting the boot down on ISIS is important. We need to show these people that the evil they commit will be met with force. Keep this up, and a lot of them won't wanna fight anymore.
