Now you gotta do "China Grove" for the full circle of pure Doobie uniqueness. (Then "Listen to the Music")

Hey Twon. I can understand you're confusion so let me explain. A lot of people don't really say anything because the doobie bros is such a great group, but they are almost two separate groups. B4 Michael McDonald joined they had like a rock-a-billy sound like what you hear in Black Water or Listen to the Music. Then when Michael joined in April of 1975 their sound became more soulful like you hear in What a Fool Believes or Taking it to the Streets. That's why you thought you had the wrong track for a minute. But as you heard, the Doobie Bros are just that good.

There is the 'before' Michael McDonald Doobie Brothers and the 'after' Michael McDonald Doobie Brothers. The sounds are completely different. Both great, but the before is my personal favorite.

I am a BEFORE fan. Great band live too. Lots of fun. So talented. Try to find the live performance. That acapella part is sung by the crowd. The whole concert stops and we just dance and sing. Great moment. Brings back lots of memories. You also get a better idea of the musicians. That fiddle is the bomb.
