The secret to this fight is really to just fight for what it is . A literal large ape at first , but it’s sword play is minimal as hell. This game does well on determining posture for the specific enemies . I never seen an ape with sword poise lol

You have to parry him not run away. You must face the beast. Parrying the big overhead sword slam is the key...it stuns him and you can get in some big hits then. All of his attacks can be parried in first and second phase...other than the red grabs and swipes

Max always chose the hard way to kill the Ape at phase 2 (he's killed ape without deflect) and im very enjoy it.

Chat really tried to say this man died 7 times so if it takes an 1 hour and a half for him to die seven times then anybody who played this ape died only 7 times…I counted 47 deaths on this one that ape is actually hard.

I never discovered that during my playthroughs. Sadly Max rarely used the correct counters for thrusts and sweeps.

I tried it and it did not work. The game makes it seem like that’s what you should do which is really odd.

Max runs away from danger, not towards it. I think many would reach a similar conclusion his sekiro gameplay. Rather unsatisfying, to be honest. Dude also didn't pay attention to the fact that his perfect parry of that ginormous sword slam led to a huge stun to the ape.
