I admire you so much for the amount of care and heart you put into every card. Since they are primarily donated, it would be easy to make simple cards, but yours go way past the extra mile. Every card has several layers, and each layer is matted. This alone will double the time and work required. The addition of brads or dots are just what many designs need to really make them sing. Then you finish each one with a coordinating paper strip inside. I think my favorite part is the small banner pieces you add to so many of the designs. It has become almost your signature . Thank you for showing others what one person can do to bring a smile to someone and brighten their day.

jean massey Thank you! I find joy making cards, so it just seems right to share that joy with others. I really think it’s important to use quality materials and always do my best, no matter who the card recipient may be. I want that person to know they are appreciated and worth the extra time and expense. I used to volunteer for a nonprofit organization that collected donated cards. Quite often the card donors made poor quality cards that were already falling apart. It was very sad. I just love that little banner die. It’s part of a retired set from Project Life made by American Crafts. The banner is the only die I use. I also used a banner die from MFT for this set of cards. 😊 I hope you have a beautiful day!

Jeanne Tomshack Thank you! I loved the gold foil accents in the paper pad, but decided to add just a bit more with some gold washi tape. You can’t have too much pretty gold shimmer, right? 😊
@bethhansen8216 жыл бұрын
I just bought this paper pad and am so happy to see that you've done this set to encourage ideas. As usual you produced a fantastic assortment of cheerful cards. I picked up on that tip of sticking the washi tape to cardstock so you then could punch out the circles to add to the card... love the idea. The use of the extra paper strips to the inside is great - it ties the front to the inside. I always learn from you. Thanks for the tutorial and your time.

Beth Hansen Thank you! I’m always grateful for your kindness and support. I hope you enjoy using this paper collection as much as I did. It’s just lovely. Do you ever kill a 12x12 paper pad? I know the patterns are so much bigger and was wondering if you think it's doable. Thank you for showing us once again what is possible. You always amaze me.
@KristieMarcotte6 жыл бұрын
Deborah Wildman Thank you! I appreciate your kindness. 😊 I rarely use 12x12 paper for cards. The same process would still work, but it would be tricky with the larger patterns. You could definitely make A LOT of cards using a 12x12 paper pad. I think I would get tired of the paper. A 24-sheet 6x6 paper pad is the perfect size for me. 🙂

I love this collection as well. Were you saying the smaller cut a parts were more challenging to use on the cards?
@KristieMarcotte6 жыл бұрын
Ella Conner Doodlebug always makes such fun paper collections. 🙂 The cut aparts used to be larger. 2” x 2” and 2” x 3”. Now the cut aparts are all 1 1/2” x 2”, really small. I just prefer the larger sizes.

Fabulosity!! I've been waiting for your to make a video using this paper pad. I've purchased two packs of this paper; I just love it that much. Gotta ask you though.....do you go to a store that stocks Doodlebug or do your order on line? I'm asking because your paper always match so perfectly and I just bought a ton of different colors (5 each of 17 different colors) and I'm STILL missing some apparently. Thanks for any insight that you can give me. Be well -

Karen Gerek This paper collection is so fun! I bought 2 paper pads as well. I love the gold foil accents. 💕 I order most of my craft supplies online, except for cardstock. If I don’t already have coordinating cardstock, I take the paper pad to the store so I can be sure it actually matches. I usually buy my 12x12 cardstock from Joann’s when it’s on sale. The value packs, like the blue I used for my matted layers, I buy from Michaels. I don’t always find exact matches, so I just work with what I have. 🙂

Do you always have the same quantity of coordinating sheets of cardstock you use? How many would you recommend?
@KristieMarcotte6 жыл бұрын
Missy Kern Hello. I do not always have the same amount of cardstock when starting a 6x6 paper pad. I like to have at least 15 - 20 sheets for the matted layers. I also use a variety of colors for the backgrounds and try to have 6 - 8 sheets in several coordinating colors. This doesn’t always happen though if I don’t have enough paper on hand. 🙂
