Doodlebug: Homemade Tractors

Very interesting video! A bit of necessity is the mother of invention I suppose! Hear in England lot of old cars were cut down to make pick up truck, they thought nothing of doing that😀👍

doodle bugs weren't only made in the 1930s but also much earlier then that and also made in Europe as well just the difference car repairshops or black smithshops made them. There was a Canadian company also that made kits to make a doodle bug, and Sears and Wards had kits like that in their Catalogs as well

My uncle had a 1934 Ford truck that had the cab cutoff and a wooden bed looked like a narrow pickup bed. He used it to haul fence repair items and pull a 10 foot wide disc. His doodlebug had the flathead v-8, 4 speed transmission, 2 speed rear end with dual wheels. It was a beast to drive but sure could pull that disc.
