I have been building interactive livestreams since 2019. After many failed attempts, finally built one that can theoretically scale up to millions of players (whatever the max viewer count of a twitch livestream is). The main innovation being a channel point bidding system I built for streaming on twitch! Let me know what you think :)

One thing that bugs me about this game is that the King's zone is almost always dead space that rarely gets interacted with. You have 1/3rd of the screen that most of the time nothing happens in. If instead of always having the ability to attack the king, there were periodic periods where players got to go on the attack, you'd be able to use that space for more minigames and maybe could vary the king attack/defense more too.

Alternate idea: a 1 player game, except only one person in the world can play it at a time. Everybody else just watches them. So you would truly know who was the first in the world to beat the game

I think it's a sick idea, I would honestly invest in getting someone that is great at UI visual design, because I suspect that might be the biggest barrier rn! get it looking good and professional, and streamers will want to use it!!

While I think the idea of a twitch chat playing is extremely cool. I don't see your game being able to handle significant streams. Overall you are still limited by the number of people that can play at once if you want to render them on screen. I don't think any games would work in that fashion for large streams. A game able of handling a large audience necessarly needs to aggregate a part of the players under one group. Still, one could oppose a group of anonymous players VS a group of nominated player like in one of your mini game. This could be very popular alone to my mind. I also think the games would have to be dumbed down for a large audience. For a small audience having such an UI can work but on a larger scale I highly doubt it. Plus simple, yet addictive, stuff are just way more popular.

What if we could have a server powerful enough to have a 1 million player player battle? Pick any medieval or first person shooter. Now imagine moving real wars to the digital worlds.

@@DoodleChaos Unfortunately the most players on a server at average is 16-32, 100 on a few and the few MMO's left barely hit 1k per server. Things we need to achieve practical high server population exceeding 1k players. 1: Fiber Optic cables in place of copper cables. 2: Massive group processor computers that can handle the volume of players and objects. If we can hit 1k players on a 3D game like Minecraft, which honestly can struggle to manage close to 1k players due to all the stuff going on, imagine what could be achieved in a more demanding game such as War Thunder, Battlefield or Call of Duty? This would have to account for players as far apart as the corners of the USA or from different continents. No amount of space satellites will match the superior speed and uninterrupted connection of cable. Starlink is making internet available world wide, but for gaming and video we need to replace all cables with Fiber Optic.

​@@WbfuhnYou used Minecraft here as a light game example and I think it's not the case - it treats each block separately and each entity separately in a very unoptimized way, not to mention it doesn't use multithreading. I don't think it is heavier to run a War Thunder server, since you only need information about player vehicles, their position and their ammo. In Minecraft you need to handle each player's inventory and the map that's constantly changing. War Thunder maybe heavier to run client-wise, but it's definitely not server-wise.
