That grape kool-aid is supposed to be a medium violet shade, but sometimes comes out greyish violet. Although I've never seen it as black as yours was when I died my hair with the grape kool-aid it turned my bleach blonde hair tealish green, which makes me think the dyes in it are really unpredictable and maybe even chemically reactive.

fun little story about kool-aid powders. When I was really young my friends and I used to play this game and film each other pretending to be ninjas and when we wanted to look like one of us had gotten hurt we used slightly watered down red kool-aid powder for fake blood. on camera, it actually didnt look half bad.

Might I make an art challenge suggestion? You could try to use skittles as watercolours, by pouring water on them, and waiting for the colour to wash out. I'm not sure if it'll work out, but it's worth a try!

Paint with m&ms or skittles, just put them in a little bit of water and the pigment will come off, then take the rest out and then you can use the water to paint! I've tried it before and it's pretty cool! The more you put in the more pigment you will get!

You can dye hair with kool aid because they put so much food coloring in it that it stays really well. If you boil water with kool aid then dip your hair and leave it for a while then wash it out it leaves your hair very vibrant. I did it with blue once and it looked really nice.

I'd love to see you guys do an entirely edible painting. You could use fondant as paper, skittles/kool-aid+corn syrup as paint, and black edible color marker for the linearts. You could even add some shimmer with those edible glitters. I think it would be really cool, and if you'd want you'd even be able to add some 3d edible elements and things.

It depends... my dad works where they make the drink mix stuff(basically koolaid with sugar already mixed in) so I always had that(which tastes so much better!!!) and then the one time we had a jar of cherry koolaid mix which always stained my hands and I learned the hard way you have to add sugar to it!

Pixie stixs or soda might have that same kool aid effect. You could probably paint with hard candies like jolly ranchers too. And for a more savory option you guys could use soup.

Just a quick thing! Hairspray will not fix your images permanently. It is made for hair and is created to be washed out. To make sure it doesn't get moldy I'd recommend an actual fixative (can be a little expensive, but it lasts a long time and it keeps your art so much better)

Yeah I dyed the ends of my hair with cherry kool-aid and it lasted until I cut my hair. It faded over time of course, but it worked really well, even on my friend's dark brown hair.
