Thank you Claudene - I had a very nice birthday. So glad you liked my page with the tag that covered my mistake. I guess that was NOT an "attention to detail" moment! 🎉🎂🎁🎼happy birthday to you! 🎶🎁🎂🎉 glad you had a nice day. It's not just comments that there's problems with as my first 2vids are hiding somewhere, as there not on my list any more. Love your bird and what you did with the print! Thanks for sharing them, take care, Joanne.
@CatHand9 жыл бұрын
+ArtyFarty Fairy Thanks Joanne! I did have a nice day. :) I just went to your channel and I can see your first two videos (the hair barrette ones) are still there. You may be looking at your HOME screen (videos do drop off there.) Look where the headings are across the top of the page, right above where the videos are listed, and click where it says VIDEOS. You should see them all there... TFW! :)
@ArtyFartyFairy9 жыл бұрын
+Cat Hand You are just too nice, thank you. 'my videos' is where they are on an android and they still missing in action. But they are showing on my home page I never thought to look there, as it's not where I go really often, as they're allways in- 'my video's'. But I'm sure that is the opposite to what you just said. See what I mean about Android being different. It looks similar but I have no way on this to even see who my subscribers are. I can see how many but as to who they are I have to get Mick to sign in as me on his works pc and have a look to tell me the ones who aren't private. I think they up graded the app a few days ago as the public videos in my list, the front picture changed size and it looked different. Now they are back to how they were but at least 2 are MIA. Android is strange but I am not complaining as if it wasn't for it I would never have been able to do this! Thank you for looking for me. I hope you can make sense of the above, as they are similar but not the same workings. Take care, Joanne.
@ArtyFartyFairy9 жыл бұрын
+Cat Hand ps sorry I just had a look by using the other youtube app called- studio. I uploaded it to see if I could see my subscribers and do some simple cropping/editing to take the pressure off Mick, and they do show up on there. Feel free to delete all this as I do feel bad about me prattling on about mine on yours. It just doesn't seem right. Joanne 😊
@CatHand9 жыл бұрын
+ArtyFarty Fairy Aw, no worries Joanne! I know that things are different on mobile devices than they are on PCs. My ipad doesn't show all the stuff my computer shows either... I use the YT Studio app, too and I like it for responding to comments, especially when I'm, say, in line at the grocery store, etc. Haven't seen anything on the iPhone version of that app that shows who my subscribers are, though. Must be a little different for Android or I haven't explored it thoroughly yet. ;-)

Thank you for all the instruction on gel plate and how to use the prints. I am anxious to buy one. Would you recommend purchasing an 8x10 size or close to it (if they come in that size) or get a smaller one to practice with so I don't use so much paint in the beginning. I'm not sure what my settings are so if I don't hear back, I'll check the settings.
@CatHand3 жыл бұрын
My pleasure, Marilyn. You’ll have a lot of fun with a gelli plate. I recommend a plate by Gelli Arts or Gel Press. A 5x7 is a nice size to start with, but it really depends on what you might want to use the prints for. I started with an 8x10 size. It can be disappointing, though, because it won’t print all the way to the edges of a letter-size sheet of paper. I mention this because some people like to fold letter-size prints in half to make junk journal pages. There are many sizes available now, but it’s not a bad idea to start small. 😊

You probably have figured this out by now since this is an older video, but when using yellow heavy body acrylic paint if you add a little white to the yellow it will cover better. The yellow shades tend to be transparent.

Is this a journal cover? And if so what it gelli plate techniques? How beautiful! I bought a gelli plate (speedball), brayer and a glass cutting mat. I haven't played with it yet as I have to buy more acrylic paints, more stencils and gather more things I can use to make impressions such as feather, leaves. You have any other suggestions? Also what kind of paper to use. I do have mixed media, watercolor paper (Canson) that can get expensive. Do you use gesso to the paper prior to laying paper over paint of gelli? Any ideas and or suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you for the tut. Yes I love my wink of Stella. Love your art work you are talented.

+janette aguirre-terry Thanks so much, Janette. I use all kinds of papers to print on - printer paper, card stock, magazine and book pages, graph paper and deli paper, to name a few. I really like that zig zag stencil. What brand is it, do you know?
@CatHand9 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is by 2 Berry Creative. I'm got a really good deal at Steals.com. If you're interested go there and at the search box choose SCRAP category & then type in "2 berry stencils" and it should come right up.

Where and how do you store all your scrap paper and cards for unwasted paint?
@CatHand9 жыл бұрын
I keep my scraps in a plastic drawer in one of those Sterilite 3-drawer units. My index cards are in a box that sits right next to my work table so I can grab them quickly when I have a bit of paint to use up. TFW! 😊

I'm sorry if I missed it somewhere, but could you tell me what name/brand of stencil the zigzag/rickrack stencil is? LOVE that one, and thank you for sharing. Your work is an inspiration! ~tina (And P.S... Happy Birthday!)

Hi Tina - thank you for your sweet comment and birthday wishes! That stencil is by Two Berry Creative and I got it here: scrapbook.steals.com/p/3013606/two-berry-creative-stencil-set-of-2?v=3063858 It's a good price for 2 large stencils. They are sticky stencils, but I just use them with the backing paper in place for my quick stenciling-on-paper projects.

Cat Hand Thank you so much.. I love it in your work, but it also has the charm of vintage rick-rack, and it even reminds me of Charlie Brown! :) I can see putting this stencil to much use! Thank you so much!

Making your own stencils with a stencil knife and acetate film will be soooo much cheaper and you can do exactly what you want instead of trying to find it to buy, besides it is yours alone.

Gelli plates can be purchased online at several places and shipped to you. I got mine at Amazon - it’s 8x10 inches, and they are available in other sizes, too. www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=8x10+gel+plate
