I love how you have the muscle diagram taped on the leg. Most videos show an anatomical model, which is hard to visualize in relation to your own body. This is perfect!

OMG!!! Thank you! Usually after a hard training I cramp up hard in both my Sartorious Muscles. Always happens and it's hard to stretch it while it's happening so I just ride it out. Thank you for the lesson... best video so far on this muscle.

Could this be a reason why some may have flexible flat feet...My son has really bad flat feet and we’ve been working on his feet but now he has an awesome long arch but now when he puts weight on his feet his arch collapse... I’m thinking that the last thing he needs is strengthening this muscle and his glutes... it seems like this muscle being weak hurts his glute angle... Any thoughts would be appreciated... Hope all is well. Thanks. ~DM

Arches are meant to decompress during pronation phases like the loading phase of gait (front leg of lunge). If you can build an arch during supination phases, don’t worry about resting phases being flat!

Thanks so much for taking the time for feedback. It’s very much appreciated. I personally have an engineering background and have been correcting my alignment and have about a thousand observations that have blown my mind and would love to give you my observations and perhaps even some theory’s and/or your thoughts on a plurality of concepts...but I wouldn’t want to overwhelm your blog or I wouldn’t even know where to start... Your teaching have really filled in the gaps for me and have been extremely helpful... Some of my results, with my feet but more importantly my whole body have been mind boggling awesome... I guess my first observation would be why is most of the medical community so oblivious to the science.... Another general observation is great posture is not for some model or athletic but great posture is the body in neutral... something the population needs to be put on notice...again a touchy topic because the understanding of all this extremely complicated... But for example, having poop posture is people’s losing touch with their body ... which again is touchy because we are never taught to think of our body in general except for sexual or other ways... To hit this point hard, if I couldn’t move my elbow I would go to the doctors immediately... but if I can’t flex or extend my big toe ( I mean correctly move my big toe as I may not know the correct terms) not only would I not go to the doctors but I wouldn’t care even if pointed out.. At the end if your body’s isn’t working, it’s not working but we look to pills or getting cut and ignore all the signs around us... At any rate... I have a plurality if observations correctly and educating myself with my body that I’m almost embarrassed to say how my body adjusted because it sounds like I’m from MARS... At any rate I’m going on for no reason... Thanks for your videos they have helped me... Especially the foot to core breathing shortfoot videos... Hope all is well... ~DM

You may be able to help me with my pain. I’m a soccer player and I noticed by inside knee starting popping whilst playing. This progressed and my hip (left leg), biceps femoris, and hamstring muscles as well as my lower back started hurting. I get the most pain when I bend down, especially if I was to perform a squat or if I was to sit at a 90 degree angle and try and touch my toes, I just get a massive shooting pain down my leg all the way to my foot. My BF and hamstrings tighten up and hurt when I do this. As I say when I’m walking my inside knee will sometimes start popping and become painful at times. I haven’t had a serious injury, I had some tight muscles right before this happened so that may be a contributing factor. I haven’t played for two months trying to fix this and I am considering asking to be referred to a physio. Is there anything you think might be causing the problem?

@@emmasimpson1167 I think it may have been weak glutes/hamstrings

@@AnxietyAddict did you just strengthen the muscles and you're all ok now? I am having a similar issue. Think it could be my sartorius muscle is super tight or weak I can't tell but been getting worse pain in my knee over 3 months and now it's inside leg as well.
@AnxietyAddict3 жыл бұрын
@@emmasimpson1167 I think I just did bridges, clamshells with resistance bands and kind of like a lunge thing where you rest on one knee and kind of push your hip forward (the hip on the bended knee side) whilst tensing it at the same time. Not arching your back, just slightly pushing your hip forward so you feel a stretch in your quads and hips.

I have had the exact thing you are talking about here for one year! I have been to a good physio about this but even he has been beat by this as it keeps recurring. I get major discomfort/pain along my anterior medial part of my knee which is brought on by just living! This from a former athlete who in the last year has done nothing because everyday life is an effort. It doesn't matter how many knee or glute strengthening exercises I do it has zero effect. I tried this standing stretch of yours and sob I felt the anterior medial part of my knee. How in the world do I get rid of this injury and how did it occur in the first place as I felt no trauma, just an inability to kneel or have my leg at the tailor's stretch position. Do I just do the stretches you have here?
@lukeonorato98153 жыл бұрын
Did they ever say that the knee could be overworked cause it’s compensating for weak hamstrings or hips? My doctor said I not only had to strengthen my sartorius but also my hamstrings.
@gonkula3 жыл бұрын
tightness is often a symptom of weakness, so you may find that to solve your pain, you may need to strengthen something else along the chain, just like Luke Onorato mentioned, the hamstrings might be one such case

Hey there! I have something I would really like to talk with you about, this is something like a new topic for a video (probably a lot of this was discussed, but this would be more summarized) based on my problem. Don't want to go into much details here, just tell me if you are not against and would like to help me and other ppl, you + my thoughts and we should figure out this :) Tell me where I can PM you (maybe email or something). Thanks!
