The main game was released in 2004 which is even older and it was the first time we experienced id tech 4 in all its glory, but yeah this is the expansion from a year later which is basically the same engine and visuals.

They would have to downgrade the graphics significantly to run on PS2 but it is on numerous other consoles like Original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, PS5 ect.
