@@hokkaido9932 From what I can tell you can't play more than one mod at once on the console versions. You can only activate one mod at a time. I haven't really tested out the PC version due to being very busy with work lately but I would imagine that you could easily do it just fine on that front. I don't know, someone who's more experienced with the PC version of Kex Engine Doom is going to have to step in and fill us in on that.

I think because they're seperate sound files and these mods were not made with them in mind it's possible that they made an oversight and not coded the game to alter sound files within mods.

​@@logiclunacy606nah, it's because most mappacks still use the default filenames for music since some source ports dont support being able to have custom music names, if they had it play over mods then by default you would hear the doom 2 soundtrack for EVERY mappack, so they instead decided to make it clear the track list for classic and remastered settings when a mod is loaded. As somebody who has poked around with the modding tools for this game I can tell you it's as easy to fix as literally just copying the tracklist from the game files and including them in your wad before uploading them.

@tdoran616 Initially it's been a sourceport exclusive for PC/Android. As far as I can tell it's still not on any home consoles unless somebody decides to upload Ashes onto the browse mods section. That could change but for now it's PC devices only!

Ashes 2063 will never be uploaded. Because it uses ZDoom features (Meaning it needs a sourceport based on ZDoom, like... ZDoom itself, or the more well-known GZDoom and Zandronum sourceports.) This Nightdive version only supports up to BooM compatibility, allowing for a *few* things like railings, slopes, and some new enemy/weapon behavior (such as the lingering flame used in the amazing Legacy of Rust expansion.) It's very technical, but trust me when I say it's not possible.

@@fearlesswee5036yeah… there isn’t even an option to turn on “mouse” look. (tho i guess you actually CAN use a mouse+keyboard on the new console version, tho the controller works just fine with gyro enabled.). even if it wasn’t that technical of an issue, considering we have no way to look up or down on console, it would make mods like Ashes or Prohect Brutality not work very well. at least we get some great WADs tho 🤷‍♂️. better than nothing

half of what's on PS5 straightaway crashes the game when you try and launch it. clearly Bethesda want quantity over quality on these because I can't be the only one constantly sending "error reports" yet the malfunctioning mods don't get taken off the game. I'm guessing some of this is because certain Doom mods require multiple mods running together for things to work properly (I've never played mods on pc Doom so perhaps someone can make sense of why stuff is crashing on ps5) some of the mods literally do nothing when you activate them..which I suppose is an improvement over crashing the game but if half this stuff isn't tested & doesn't work then why put it all on the PS5 version to start with ??

there’s no brutal doom or ashes guys. those need a different source port to operate. only mods that function like classic doom and doom2 will be available. check the recommended mods list in game for a better idea. still some great stuff in there, but they’re all gonna play like original doom. no looking up or down type stuff.

i was testing aswell, heres the thing this new port of DOOM got features of BOOM but most of the new wads are made for ZDOOM and includes a lot of scripting and doesnt work at all on this if you try to play for example "MY_HOUSE.WAD" it will crash your whole game

I haven't played og Doom since like 1996 except maybe once on gba emulator and that lasted maybe 30 seconds😅. Its nice to play this on my PlayStation and actually play some of the mods. Any recommendations?

just reboot the game. sometimes the mods don’t load. start with the recommended mods first, or just the preloaded expansions like No Rest for the Living.

From what I've heard switch players got horribly shafted in that they'll only be allowed to download "curated" mods, it's the only version of the game that does this and it's kind of stupid but that's to do with nintendo

Alot of them don't work because people are just uploading ones that aren't even boom compatible. Here are a few I've been playing on my ps5 that all work. Eviternity Thatchers techbase Scythe Scythe2 Doom 2 in Spain only Doom the way Id did

Based on my limited knowledge, i doubt Golden Souls would work. These mods need to be mostly vanilla. This doesn't support Zdoom specific features. So no crazy mods like brutal doom

brutal doom is not compatible, a mod called boiled doom adds some similar things as brutal doom like weapons and blood

​@@larrydavis8325no they arent because this isnt gzdoom and I'm tired of reading the billions of complaints that this isnt gzdoom, the developers had 1 year and a team of less then 20 people to somehow make a clean room doom sourceport (meaning they werent allowed to use the source code of other doom engines, which is what every other sourceport uses,) compared to gzdoom which has been developed for over 20 years with 100s of contributors and the ability to actually utilize the source code of other engines. Gzdoom supports zscript while this supports mbf21 and id24, which while they can do some pretty nutty ass stuff, cannot do the same insane shit zscript can do. If you want brutal doom on xbox than install gzdoom and run brutal doom through that, theres a public beta of a UWP port of gzdoom that runs on xbox.
