If you wanted to know what all the other console exclusive levels are, they're all on the ps1 and saturn versions of doom. There's hell gate/tower of babel, hell keep, twilight descends, threshold of pain, redemption denied, the marshes, the mansion, and club doom. The console versions of Tower of babel and hell keep are completely different from e2m8 and e3m1. the gba version also has some exclusive deathmatch maps.

Their version of Hell Keep is certainly better than the original Hell Keep, and Twilight Descends, Threshold Of Pain, and The Mansion are some of my favorite commercial Doom maps. Unfortunate that Redemption Denied though is as lame of a final level as Dis and Icon Of Sin are.

Shotgunning caco after caco and lamenting SO MANY Barons that could've been Hell Knights instead (Yeah, I'm talking to you Hell Beneath and Perfect Hatred.... Thy Flesh bloody Revealed, more like)

i understand why people think this would be a poor map, but to be honest, i disagree and enjoy these kinds of WADs. And my own first map (and most likely all that follow) is going to be more like this than anything modern. :) Thanks for showing these levels. And i bet you enjoyed them more than you admit! ;)

I was rewatching your old videos decino, and one question popped up, alongside with a suggestion, your various very informative mechanics video are always a delight because sometimes i giggle when i already know an obscure mechanic you're sharing with us, but a mechanic i never understood was the whole "Linedef Skip" that sometimes happen (Plutonia Map 9 being the one i'm watching rn that has a particularly wierd event) Maybe a video about the subject?

I'm not sure there's much to say about it. I think it works kinda like no-clipping fireballs: If you run across a linedef in exactly the right way, you cross it "between" ticks, so the game doesn't register you being in contact with it.

Oh Decino you’ve made my day! I couldn’t stop laughing from 15:40 onwards! I didn’t quite grasp how bad the level was until you reached that blinking corridor! The way you said ‘Ugh’ and complained about your eyes hurting and getting a headache! 😂😂😂😂😂. This gives me idea for a part in a map - snall maze, but filled with Health Bonuses, so you can see where you were by the bonuses you collected. Designed so you only have to go through it once.

You can see now why I said the Master Levels weren't that bad in hindsight. Of course we're spoilt by modern mapping standards, but circa 1995 they were still better than 99.9% of Doom PWADs out there. At least you never have to play any of these levels ever again!

Call me crazy but i liked that map, better as the Doom 2 one. And it is a though map 2, hell you just finished E1M1 by this point. And when my memory is right they wanted to replicate the minimalstic style of Wolfenstein 3D graphic wise. So you only need the Playstation Doom exclusive maps to finish all the official maps. Man i loved the disco map of Playstation Doom.

Betray at least seemed to have a purpose, vague and impenetrable as it may have been, and you had the fun of dumping the BFG into monsters' faces. This feels like one of those maps you sketch in Doom Builder to test concepts and mechanics in a pre-alpha cycle.
