One day in the past all these rooms were full of demons and players. Nowadays, they still have their lights on, their barrels can still be exploded, their bodies still burn, but no player visits them anymore. Hell now seems calm. Good video.

It just resonates with my soul. Brings back a lot of good memories, and a lot of bad, bitter sweet ones. But you need to lift your head up, and push on forward through life. Every experience, good and bad; made you who you are. Those experiences make you stronger, but at the cost of slowly becoming numb to the hardships around you.

Many covers can capture the emotion that Sign of Evil packs. Others can turn it into something more upbeat. What you have done is something else. That E1M8 feeling is amplified tenfold, and turned into something completely beyond anything I've ever heard. This is easily the best remake of Sign of Evil that I've ever heard, and I don't think it will ever be topped. It doesn't matter how many people are in the room with me, this song makes me feel alone.

Use middle finger. 3(first fret, still high string, use your first finger. 4(go to the second highest string, and use your third finger on the fourth fret there 5(directly after doing step 4, immediately go to the third fret on the high string using your middle finger I myself am still learning the rest. Just so you know, I’m talking about the part at 1:05. The part at 0:00 is a bar cord, which is VERY HARD for a beginner, but considering it’s been 9 months, you probably should have done something with your guitar by now.

Definitely one of the most stellar covers of the original Doom soundtrack - and with twists here and there :) The soundtrack of PSX Doom ports are worth listening, too, they're dark ambient with eerie soundscapes that truly contribute to the primal atmospheric fear that the Doom game series compels, especially the hellish levels.
@Legally_John
@Legally_John 3 жыл бұрын
@@pistool1 The PSX and N64 soundtracks are great too. I've heard people say they don't fit Doom, but even the original soundtrack wasn't all metal, with tracks like Demons on the Prey, Opening to Hell, and of course Sign of Evil paving the way for that take on Doom.

There's only two games that left such a deep permanent imprint on me, that I look apon its levels with the same nostalgic comfort as a childhood home.. Dark souls (Lordran), and Doom/Doom II. I was playing doom since I was 5.. Maybe it'll be one of the last games I play.. And that'd be just fine by me.

@@squishybrick I get what you mean. The land of the ancient lords and the UAC Mars base are home for me too ❤️ Some of the rooms and spaces in Dark Souls and even Doom can have a soothing, nostalgic effect. Like a sigh of relief when you enter. Like, okay phew, made it to a comfy spot, time to chill for a sec. Hard to truly describe, but it’s a 100% real emotion. Video games, man.

@@ShreddingDragon Nothing like just beating a horde of demons by the skin of your teeth, realizing you forgot a key or switch somewhere, and just backtracking through the swathes of corpses you left behind.. You just don't get that feeling in any other game BUT doom.. That feeling of being reminded just how badly you wrecked this place.. That feeling of pride, comfort, and safety. All your hard work, so neatly displayed all before you to walk past as you tour the level for some extra pickups or a key. That's partly what made doom such a comforting experience.. The backtracking was never frustrating, because of the display of corpses you'd left behind, so you never felt 'forced' to get familiar with the terrain.. It was a fully organic side-effect of the process. Same with darksouls.. You never felt 'forced' to backtrack, and whenever you did, it was never unpleasant to do, and gave you time to really 'settle in' to the environment.

Then once I killed the pinky’s and got into that hallway with the torches right before the elevator, it hit. I had to stop, and I cried. I remember being able to feel the sadness and rage that doom guy must’ve felt by this point. Great experience. This mix is one of the best I’ve heard. The surprising thing about Doom is the community behind it. Guys like you and the gaming youtubers (shoutout to @Decino) who are still releasing mods, wads, doing playthroughs and making music covers keeps the game alive. Just this recently, id software re-released the game with a super-bundle running on new engine and I'm stoked to try out the new 16 levels. You know what they say...Doom is Eternal! 🔥🤘

This is so sick. HUGE Opeth vibes haha. We do video game covers too, so I'm on pretty good authority to say this is NASTY. Keep it up, my friend.

481 views for a remix that is done VERY well. Course titling E4M4, most people don't even search that up since most people remember it as E1M8. But hey, its still really nice, I love how you conducted this remix. Yes, remix, not cover since this is more than a cover, its a makeover from the original and I love it to bits! I'm gonna try my best to post this on my FB and all for ya man, this needs A LOT of love!

Wow, thank you so much! I truly appreciate it. And you're right, most people likely look for E1M8 Phobos Anomaly first. However the reason why I personally chose E3M4 instead was that the name "House of Pain", and the level's visuals, always made me feel strongly about this music track. For me, they all belong together in that certain melancholic style which I love. Not to say that "Phobos Anomaly" wouldn't make an awesome prog metal track name!

@@ShreddingDragon Hey brother, I just wanted to let you know that I also added a tiny segment of your cover in my Doom Eternal Part 22 video as an outro. I obviously credited you in my desc because this SoE is one of the best that exists. Thank you again for making this masterpiece

I forgot to mention, a late mention, that your work is also in rotation in DOOM Radio - Beats to rip/tear to. So now, people who tune in there will have a chance to hear your song randomly and flock over to your channel! :D

I just discovered your channel the other day, and after having listened to this song a dozen times since, I have to finally comment. This is an incredible take on this song. It is bittersweet in every meaning of the word. You fought so hard, and after all you have done, you are finally victorious. But you haven't achieved anything. Nothing came of it. Beautiful work, dude! \m/

This is an absolutely amazing cover, from the first second all the way to the last, and showcases such a passion for the original track and the game itself. I absolutely love it, and wish there were more covers of this caliber on youtube for classic Doom songs. Keep up the amazing work, because you've got some serious talent!
