I think intern is meant to represent the fan base in human form, seeing him interact with doom guy as a fan kinda shows that he is delivering what we wished most, to friend doomguy and help him. It makes perfect sense, the intern shows no fear like how players show no fear of ripping apart demons. He smiles like we do when we play as doomguy. He helps like we would when playing as doom guy to continue the story. And he friends doomguy so that we don't have too. Intern is doing all of this to respect the fan base, I think this is what the devs wanted, they wanted to create a character that represents the doomslayer fans. Intern represents everyone here, he is all of us in one. Seems accurate right? Also we need nicknames for him now. Should he be doombro? What do you guys think?

When doom fans want more of a character, that says the world. We didn't even ask for the story, just give us some guns and point us at the demons. SOMEHOW????? 🤷🏼‍♀️ They managed to throw in a story, and it's pretty good. Vega was a computer and Titan Fall 2 broke me of getting attached to video game ai. But apart from that, by the end of Doom 2016, I couldn't wait until I got to see Sam Hayden die. I loved killing all the characters we had so far. But intern-guy, he's the only one apart from the Slayer I don't personally want to kill in game. He is us, he is the guy who stayed awake late at night, or even until the next morning playing doom 1&2. He is the guy who has played all the games in the doom franchise. Sometimes video games can take you to a different world where the hell you face in it, is nowhere near as bad as the hell you face in real life. Plus in the game, you actually have a shot at winning. Doom was the first to take so many of right to that point. Intern-guy, yea, he's as us as it gets. Right down to the haircut and glasses (seriously, he kinda looks like I would if the depression would let me eat right).

As much as I like internguy, I do like to have characters that are of act like they're equals to the Slayer. Like Hayden or the Betrayer. Of course they never will equal to him but I like the dynamic. Plus I want a small demon kill squad, consisting of the Slayer, internguy, and 1 or 2 extra characters to help the Slayer on his journey fighting the dark lord.

I don't play Doom, but I've kept up with a large majority of their content[new fan here]. I think the creator of Doom said somewhere down the line that we were supposed to see ourselves as the Doom Slayer, and that we were the ones who basically drove wave after wave of demons back again and again. With this in mind, it would make sense that when someone would present themselves as our #1 fan and treat us like a good ole pal from school that we would genuinely come to enjoy being around them. Despite being on there for such little screentime, I think that's why everyone came to enjoy Internguy. Not just because he didn't run away, and treated Doom Slayer with respect, but because he was rooting for us all along!

The thing i like about the Intern is that I feel like he is the personification of the entire fanbase and he is probably the only and the closest person ever to treat the Doomguy like an actual human instead of some Deity that meant to be feared.Especially when he called him by his real trademark name instead of "The Slayer".It's so wholesome it gives some hope. It makes you wonder cus it's probably been god knows how many years since the last time he was called by that name since before he was known as the Slayer,he was just a UAC marine nicknamed the Doom marine and after the intern called him Doomguy,He probably felt nostalgic and Human and i bet it felt nice for once. I hope he survives through all of this and I really REALLY hope Doomguy puts his hand on the Intern's shoulder as a sign of "Thank you"

Bad for the cause. The Father would not let The Slayer to kill The Dark Lord, as it is against the laws he wrote. By denying God a physical body, The Slayer has a chance on finally killing The Dark Lord, and ending this eternal fight.

Also, I think I undestand Hayden's plan now: he wanted to restore Father, save himself and Urdak after which he could return to study and developing of artificial argent energy which ultimatly is a fatal blow for the Dark Lord. Why? Simple: with artificial argent energy humans will ignore hell altogether, Urdak won't be in need of hell and providing it with new worlds to devour dus cutting off or reducing their 'resource' income; creating more demons would become a problem and Doom Slayer won't make it any easier for them.

The Seraphim was already tainted by Hell. The corruption was visible.
