Yes, I understand that and why the makers of Doom still want some mysteries in their games lore and also why this can be a good thing for a story. But don't hammer such an obvious thing across your fans' collective faces, basically _meant_ to rise both eyebrows and lots of questions, only to then go 'Nope, that's one of those mystery things, we won't tell!'. It is stupid and I'd even go as far as saying it is arrogant and kind of mean. But then again, the story of Eternal is kind of a mess anyways, so I think they really did not give a crap and just wanted to be edgy.

I don't know, I still think that this whole story is a mess. When so many people need (quite thorough) explanations like this in order to understand what the hell was going on, it's bad writing at least my book.

I think it could set up something more. I would welcome a storyline of new game revolving around fall of Doom guy. That he is this timeless being... and that humanity fcks up. That humanity starts to experiment with demonic energies once more in quest for eternity. Start to splice themselves with demons to prolong lifespans ect. And that Doom guy needs to fight against humanity, against the corruption, that everything turns on it's head, that indeed Doom guy becomes the new dark lord out of wish to protect humanity, saves one last bastion... but people start to mutate there too. Doom guy closing the doors and looking for solution in the past... ultimately facing off god of this universe to break the cycle.

I personally tried it with Brutal Doom Black mixed mods like with PRBoom Plus, Doom Classic PBR, ArthursBD Neuralupscale, ENH E1v1, Universal Rain and Snow, LTP, Doom Metal Volume 5. Doom HD Textures, JPCP Hud, BDBE, DHTP Normal. All done within SSGL Launcher Preview. Though the Brutal Doom weapons sometimes reverts back to classic weapons At least the extra weapons and soul cube is uneffected.

Me personally after going into ultrakill and trying to play doom eternal it just felt to slow for me, but that is because i was trying to play it like its ultrakill. Doom eternal is good if you want a slower but still high action game. Ultrakill is if you want a super speedy game amd high action. They aren't really comparable because of all the different mechanics

13:50 agreed. if i put a little digital box and added diverse characters the game wouldnt improve. gender neutral protagonists are also epic, like link, the splatoon characters, goat simulator, minecraft, and hundreds of other games. if your game has interaction with characters you can make diversity. but in doom i dont care im not represented, there aren’t many humans. plus, the music is fire, the gameplay is fire, and the aesthetic is fire.

Modern gamers don't really understand that games use to be mainly about fun, and that the people that use to make them enjoyed doing and playing games to. But now it's all DLC and micro-transactions as well as constant fixes on broken games, I do miss the days when you could unlock a funny suit or weapon in game instead of getting them via Micro-transaction. Now it just feels like everything is about money, and not just games either, all cos stock holders can't wait to get their grubby lil hands on every penny they can get. They are messing everything up, not just games.... it's a damn shame.
