Well Doom Eternal is not going to have a pistol, since by the time you got the shotgun, the pistol became obsolete. it pretty much becomes useless once you get into the second level. Doom Eternal is going to be a lot harder than 2016 Doom, so it would not make any sense to keep the pistol, as it is basically a spitball in a straw compared to all the other weapons.

Even though he probably would never paint something so violently. Hi today were going to paint a bright depiction of hell that will make you happy. This is your world so if you want to have a burning tree or building falling apart you put it wherever you want. A little touch of colour its that simple. Now beat the devil out of it and we will paint this titantic deamon with crimson red, throw it in wherever makes you happy, remember its your world. Use little crisscross strokes and dont worry if you paint to much crimson red We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents. Now we will make some happy little clouds above a crater.

Play some Brutal Doom and Doom 2016 will feel like an arcade for toddlers after that. BethDoom lacks the "juiceness" and the "punch" of BD. I also don't like the closed-arena kind of play. It was always more satisfying to just blast your way through demons room after room with varying degree of challenge etc. In 2016 it's just a bunch of similar arenas one after another. Incredibly boring. Also the weapon and monster sounds were not loud and punchy enough, didn't had distinct character to them, like the original Doom had. Sound is an important part of experience and they ruined it (apart from the music score).

You can probably get a few on eBay for an increased price, or get one of the other Collectors Edition (assuming that you want it for say, PS4) and just get a physical copy of the Deluxe Edition.

I'm glad that the multiplayer is different. In my opinion, having the same multiplayer in different games is unfair to the people who play multiplayer. If you want the same as 2016, play 2016. Think about it like this - FIFA is the same every year. Slightly better graphics, sure, but it's ultimately the same. But they still charge you for it. Doom should have overhauled multiplayer with every new game to prevent stagnation.

I really wish they made a mid game or dlc between the two of these. The last platform was dope. They coulda made a subplot and added levels and changed a couple guns. They dont have to make giant changes. Its fucking doom. You dont need some crazy storyline or giant change in design of enemies or weapons. I want more games and playing. The multiplayer was even pretty fun. Tweak that. Its not like bathesda has a shred of integrity. Make more with this. Not rage 2, wolfenstein, or fallout 76.

There's a few games I've played fairly recently that did a promotional dlc when they were about to release a sequel to that game. I really want more companies to do this to encourage people to go back and refresh themselves on why they loved a particular game before continuing into the next. It give players a better perspective on what they improved upon, what they didn't and maybe what they should have. Any great dev worth their salt can take that as valuable feedback to improve their games with patches or implement them through the next in the series.

hey im actually a playtester for doom eternal, and while they did mention better mobility and the shotgun having the grappling hook they didnt really go into depth of how much the hook really affects mobility its crazy my guess is that they didnt take full advantage of it and didnt have enough to really talk about here but its crazy. another thing is how much weaker the melee is. early on someone beat a whole level using just punches and then they pulled a sakurai and said no this is not how you play the game and made it so much less useful.

Unpopular opinion: It seems like they are adding a ton of features/stories and I'm not sure it's a good thing. Doom 2016 was refreshingly streamlined and now the doom guy is like Mario with double jump double dash dash reset etc. Hope Id could prove me wrong.

They should have left all the fancy movemnt mechanics for a new single player Quake. Quake was always all about the movement. DooM was not and shouldn't be. DooM is a run and gun.

while everyone else playing on their 144hz monitor using mouse and keyboard ill be switching the display over to my 4k tv using controller for that singleplayer console like experience. and thats what i love about my pc , use my 144hz monitor for multiplayer and use my 4k tv for singleplayer games.

Doom3guy got cutscenes, and never wore a helmet. So it's not like that's new... And while plenty of (non-Splotchie The Nightmare Cat) people had complaints about that game, I've yet to see one about the cutscenes. So if it's done here in a not-completely-different way to that game, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I hope this brings back horde shooter campaigns in FPS games. I missed them. Games like Serious Sam, Shadow Warrior, etc. No reloads, no ADS, full speed, tons of weapons, a fucktillion ton of enemies on screen and maximum carnage.
