Excellent Lovecraftian story. Starts slow, scoffing at the ignorance of the superstitious. Explains the path leading to insanity. Ends with a warning and no hope of a happy ending. VERY Lovecraftian!

Not a bad effort, but really more straight pulp horror than Lovecraft. If that little idol had been a tad more monstrous, suggesting of the Old Ones, and perhaps a vision of the inhuman depths of space instead of phantom drums, the link to the wider mythos would have been clearer. Still, this was a good effort and shows a lot of both talent for the craft and love for the subject. Please, more!!

@@AndreaJoshuaAsnicar I know of someone that was told by a fortune teller they would recieve an unexpected financial windfall, via an inheritance from a relative they hardly knew. They pressed the fortune teller as to how much and were told around £150,000. Having recieved £148,000, they contacted the fortune teller...demanding a refund, because it was £2,000 short of the predicted sum. It takes all sorts and, of course, you're correct, as it's a subjective point of view. I'd assumed our protagonist inherited more than the caretaker's cottage, but couldn't resist going for a cheap laugh. I should be horse-whipped. Lol.

Not a good depiction. Probably looked good on the story board but lacked tension, even in the choice of music.
