Doom has been my most favorite game since I was 4 (I’m 32 now). I can’t tell you how many hours of my life I’ve poured into it and the countless community-made wads over the years. It’s a huge part of my life. I was telling my wife the other day I would be more star-struck if I ever met zeromaster than if I ever met any famous celebrity on the planet. Zeromaster, you are my hero, dude! Congrats on single-segmenting every level in Sunder.

I liked Doom as a kid in the 90's but rediscovered it in my 30's now as well and over the past few years have been astonished by how much creativity their still is in the space. I love games that have fan made content communities and games from the 90's/early 00's are loaded with them. It's great. Also yes Zeromaster is awesome.

Same, started playing this as a kid and still play it today on my 30s. It is fun, fast paced action with an interesting enemy roster that a lot of A titles these days are still unable to copy.

@@ravagerslb Imo shooters really started going downhill in the mid 00's. Everything turned into CoD, things like graceful movement and weapon variety went out the window. Doom, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Painkiller, other similar titles are far superior to modern shooters, even the Doom reboots.
@Tech_Planet2 жыл бұрын
@@estefencosta1835 Doom had that single player immersive experience to it. It brought completely new elements. It also has mod longevity (that is key) with community maps still pushing boundaries to this day. These newer games strive for multiplatform and in turn sales/profit. You can't mod something like CoD to Doom type level without sacrificing hardware support. CS:GO had some promise but Valve kept fcking it up with updates. Hopefully, there will be another PC FPS which is can be modded like crazy.

I'll just speak for him on this... it was the finale. Those cyberdemons can screw you over really bad in a 1 hour run...
@OlleLinge Жыл бұрын
I have been slowly playing through this map saving only between fights and have now reached the final fight. I'd be grateful for any tips regarding the cyberdemons, because I can't find a strategy that works more than one tenth of the time! I understand that the idea is to try to herd them into the middle so you can circle strafe, but most of the time, I just die because there are too many of them and I get body blocked and some point and instantly die. In your run, it seems you also got stuck on a cyber for a moment, which must have been pretty scary, but I can't figure out a strategy that works. Obviously, you're much better at the game than me, but if you have some advice for the final fight, that would be much appreciated! And by the way, getting the BFG early with the Archvile jump was pure genius!
@ZeroMaster Жыл бұрын
my strategy worked most of the time iirc, you're right that I got lucky here when I nearly got blocked and killed which is impossible to avoid completely as far as I'm aware. Anyways I'd recommend you try to do the exact thing I do at the start of the fight there, I start in the bottom left section (bottom center being the entrance) and then run through the middle to the upper right section immediately as they teleport in as there should always be room for that. Now I'm not 100% sure, but I think the plan was to run to the right along the edge after counting to 3 instead of running back through the middle, but there was a cyberdemon there firing so I just had to do it like that. Once that's done you can start running around, you want to move at a fairly constant rate as to not drag the cyberdemons too far to one side (so for example if you take too long picking up ammo in one corner then they could move in to block the next corner). good luck :)
@OlleLinge Жыл бұрын
@@ZeroMaster Thanks! I tried replicating exactly what you did and it gets me started with the circle strafing often enough that it's viable. I still run into the random cyber maybe half the time, but since I just need to redo this one fight if I die, that's okay. Can't imagine what it would be like to have to redo the whole map just because one cyber took one extra step and blocked the path, though! When I'm done with this, I will have played through all of Sunder as well (saving between fights, naturally), and I have watched your videos after playing each level, which makes me appreciate your achievement so much more!
