In complex doom I spectated a player who had the Hexa Shotgun (yes a 6-barrelled shotgun :D ) and there was a baron of hell at close range for him. How the actual fuck can you MISS a close ranged baron with the HEXA Shotgun??? 🤣 He fucking missed the hexa shot on the baron lol... xD

I have a soft spot for this map, it's eccentric and different from most of the level design in Sunlust. It's a big patchwork of secrets and if you only do the key progression you can easily exit with less than half the kills. The atmospheric music really makes you feel like you're exploring a forgotten place.

The only reason I ever found that secret is because the WADs I used the first time playing sunlust made the armor glow through the wall. Still, this is one of my fave doom maps. Calm yet tense, fun to explore but still has some hectic parts to keep you on edge.

This is one hell of a beautiful and interesting WAD actually. I don't normally do unofficial WADs but this one I would be really happy to play. It really does show its age, as in, it's Doom but decidedly modern. Showing how far WADs have come, and the true potential of the Doom engine and the source ports. Nice. That dark room with the swirly orange floor is AWESOME btw.

Now that Ive seen the blind run, it was awesome. Terrible start but you still managed to pull it off, the map indeed seams fair. I really enjoy blind runs and how tense it can get, but its damn impressive you good you are after just a single run and how you can power through it like your practiced for hours. I've seen you do it before, but its always impressive.

Interesting aspect of verticality, after a fashion to this one---might well be one of the most along these lines I've yet seen you run. I wonder if there's maps out there specifically focusing on massive jumps down into madness and what not vs the usual mazing, or if there's something of an engine ceiling on how much you can do with height and depth.

Back a while I played Skillsaw's Valiant wad and thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen on the Doom engine. Haven't finished Sunlust yet but I'd say the two are neck and neck for first. They'll probably end up tying. I don't usually choose favorites in situations like this.

Good Doom wads are actually not that hard to be found. You just take one look at any “best wads of all time” list and a lot of familiar names start to crop up (Memento Mori, Alien Vendetta, Hell Revealed and more recently there’s Valiant and Eviternity). Or just go on the Cacowards pages and start browsing. Easy.
