I love how the maps in Valiant seem so confusing at first, but gradually start to make sense as you explore them. In other wads, I often get to the exit of a map, with all kills and secrets, and no idea of how I got there. In Valiant, I vividly remember individual beats of the map and its general flow. *_FINALLY!_* I've been waiting for this one ever since you first announced you would play through Valiant! Let's go! 10:37 That room always fakes me out too. The layout is eerily similar to the blue key ambush balcony in Bane Capitol. 16:11 I swear that secret is frickin' cursed. That ragtag gang of bony bois gets me good every single time. I'm very glad you liked The Netweaver so much. It is also one of my absolute favourites and a map that deserved to be on the "Top 100 Most Memorable Maps Of All Time" list. Bane Capitol was a teeny appetiser of what The Netweaver has to offer: gorgeous vistas, grandiose architecture, amazing use of verticality, and pacing that leaves nothing to be desired. Even the traps are mean but manageable. Track for this one is "Postmodern Muck", which just so happens to be my #1 favourite BGM in the wad as a whole. And just as shamefully as "Dark Angel" and "Flatulence Protocol", it was never used anywhere else at all. And the end screen explains why the blood hurts: Valiant has warped the entire world into a dark waste that has blood leaking from the soil. I'm amazed that there's any plant life still alive. The day after tomorrow, you will Meet The New Corruption. Be ready... and I hope you like the sound of kaboom.

I love that DooM Is always changing, improving, yet the basic formula stays the same. These map packs and .wads are usually too difficult for me to do UV fast, but I do like UV standard. The architectural design and layout of these maps, and the slight tweaks to make old enemies slightly more dangerous, this legitimately feels like an expansion to the original DooM II. These videos are catharsis.

Of course they've been around through the entire wad, but we finally get some closeups on the tree sprites here, and I just gotta say how much I like them. Really well shaded with a sense of depth that works both at the longer distance you usually see them and close up. Sometimes the illusion tends to break if you get too close, or too far above or below sprites, like the candelabras and other items that are kinda only designed to be seen from the same level, but look weird when seen from above or below, but these trees just always look great.
