Doom mod weapon showcase: Forlorn Future v1.1

Dark Passenger's creator released this very cool gameplay mod today and I felt obliged to shout it out. It has its own custom bestiary, which I quite appreciate - not nearly enough mods go through the effort of making changes to both weapons and monsters nowadays.
The aeshetic is also quite lovely, though I do wonder why the rocket trails aren't blue too. :P

Just pinning this to let you guys know this mod has a few things I didn't show, including a shoulder cannon, deploying the Shapeshifter into a turret, inventory items (infinite ammo and on-demand medic bags for example) and possibly more stuff. I like it when mods make such extensive changes to gameplay.

Very cool. The idea of making whole arsenal energy-based and then make it behave differently when using DIFFERENT energy is something I haven't saw yet.

They are, haven't had a chance to take them for a proper spin so far but I quite like the bestiary from what I've seen.

This mod's got no shortage of Argent Energy on it's end. Would fit right in anything sci-fi, cyberpunk or anything else where energy weapons thrive.

It's pretty cool, actually. I can think of a few WADs worth going through with it, most of them DBPs because something about their serialized nature makes them just nice to rummage through. Assuming you comment out FF's custom decoration items it'll work like a charm in DBP37: Auger;Zenith (the cyberpunk one).

As a Killing floor 2 fan: the pistol has the HMTech-101 pistol sounds (a.k.a. the medic perk starter weapon). And I like it

There are sentry guns and a shoulder cannon akin to Doom eternal.

No lo sé, pero creo que no. LZdoom no tuve más actualizaciones hace unos cuatro o trés años y creo el mod utiliza ZScript más nuevo que LZ.

I want to get a group together to play hideous Destructor. I have vides on my page, it is a very "realistic" mod but it is alot of fun once you figure out the controls. im talking, reloading bullets into magazines in-between kills, Pullin shrapnel out of your wounds, MRE hunger management, Loot downed enemies, And did i mention the medical system. Yes. System. Compete with improvized surgery, loose too much blood! Attach a blood bag . Need ammo ? Loot bodies and grab their guns, generally a spent mag will be in the gun they drop Scared to fight? GOD COMPLEX is another amazing multiplayer mod! 😉 Its way more forgiving than Hd.

I'll pass, HDest is not my thing. Too slow, too complex, too tech-minded and not nearly fun enough to justify playing it again.

@@matteldrydge I literally spent like years just calling HD the "dumbest mod ever made" and now find myself doing surgery after battles, setting up ambushes with the tech, I mean you can blow up doors it's kinda wild what you can do in that and it's just doom. I'm definitely going to check out Forlorn though, looks like reminds me of mod called GUNCASTER it's alot of fun and not super difficulty

Happy you like it, but I've played it for like 6 years and I don't like it anymore. Specifically after I got into slaughterwads amd playing without mods too.
